The broadcaster, Star Sports Select has consistently affected the viewers experience of watching Formula 1 races on the channel. During this year, 2021, Star Sports has repeatedly placed 1-2 minute commercial breaks in between the race.
To put this into context, a Formula 1 race lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The event does not have any particular breaks i.e is a continuous event, where the live action does not stop. Star Sports placed these commercial breaks around 7-10 times during the race duration, resulting in around 25 minutes of disturbance during a Formula 1 race.
These advertisements are also repetitive, the Renault Kiger ad plays twice or even thrice during ONE commercial break. On so many ocassions, we as consumers miss out on critical moments during the race.
