Mumbai Auto drivers — Unfair charging of price

THis is a complaint agains the auto drivers of BKC area. The meter charges from Bandra Station to Crescenzo building near MCA in BKC comes upto Rs. 39 - 40 both in the morning and afternoon. The auto wallas refuse to ferry by meter and instead charge per head Rs. 30/- in the morning and Rs. 20/- in the evening. Who has authorised this rate? Has the RTO done it. Inspite of being aware that we are being looted we end up paying as there are no buses going to these areas. Moreover, nowadays, the auto people from Crescenzo are charging Rs. 30/- in the evening and from SEBI building Rs. 20/- instead of Rs. 15/- which was charged earlier. Who is approving these fares? There are 2-3 people who fight against it and now they have stopped taking us by the autos and they tell us to complain against them as they say the RTO people take hafta from them and they are not frightened of them. This is a very scary situation. Where do we go now? They are looting us in broad daylight. Actually it is not even an authorised share rick stand as 2 weeks before 2 RTO officials had come and told everybody to take the passengers by meter (*which came to Rs. 39/- with each o[censored]s paying just Rs. 13/- each). But the next day immediately they started taking Rs. 30/- . From where are they deriving such courage to loot people ? Please look into matter.
