To whom it may concern
Sir/ Madam,
I am a 59 year old retired school (English language) teacher living in Vadodara, Gujarat. I am a mother of two, son (34) is an IT professional and daughter (30) is an editor. Though not a professionally trained dancer, I have always been passionate about dancing. I had tried my luck at Sony Entertainment Channel's "Boogie Woogie Mummy's Championship" in 2007. I got shortlisted from the ground audition and was called to Mumbai where I cleared two studio rounds before getting eliminated.
I wanted to chase my dream and relive this wonderful experience once again. Recently, I was delighted to know about the online audition of DID Super Moms Season 3 and had sent my dance video clip. I was on cloud nine when I got shortlisted and was called for the ground audition at the second level to Ahmedabad on 19th May. I was asked to prepare two more dances which I sincerely did.
I must appreciate the way the event was managed efficiently by a team of young people, right from the follow up calls to the way we, moms, were guided through the registration, interview round, sitting arrangement etc.
However, I'm really upset with the way the actual audition (level-2) took place here at Ahmedabad! I faced a panel of 8 judges (groomers? skippers?) in the alloted room, none of whom were interested in even looking up at me while I performed. Some were busy checking their phones, some were talking, some looking elsewhere. No one asked me to show the other two genres of dance that I had prepared. I was simply sent away in a matter of fact manner. After a long wait (from morning 9 am to 2 pm) it was declared that majority o[censored]s have been rejected!
I have been an avid fan of the reality show DID Super Moms and have attentively watched each and every episode of the first two seasons (2013 & 2015). I was very excited to learn that this show is coming after a long gap of seven years! In the first two seasons, I had noticed that moms who were "not such a competent dancer" too got a chance to go for the studio round and face the actual judges. I can vouch on the fact that I am definitely a more graceful and expressive dancer as compared to those mentioned above.
At 59, the chance of again getting such an opportunity becomes slim. Why did I not get a chance to showcase my talent in front of those judges like Remo sir or Geeta ma'am whom I trust? Why such a casual attitude in judging someone in my age bracket?
I'm heartbroken and wish to ask for a chance only for the studio round in Mumbai. I am well aware that I might not stand a chance to beat the young moms in their 20s, 30s or 40s. But then, when I was their age, no such opportunities came my way.
Give me a chance to face the Real Judges and hear their feedback (something I'd cherish till my last breath).
I am Trina Sensharma and my ground audition registration number was AHM 1501.
Looking forward to a positive response.
Warm regards
Trina Sensharma
