Dear Sir,

I am Shiby Varughese from Baroda, Gujarat.

In December 2016, I have taken admission in Aakash institute - 1st Floor, Monalisa Building, Manjalpur, Vadodara for my Son Roshan Regi Varughese for 11th and 12th board and NEET coaching.

At the time of Admission they told me to pay Rs.2, 14, 000/- as tuition fee in which Rs.5000/- was refundable deposit.

We have given full fee in advance in 2016 Refundable deposit Rs.5000/- given vide receipt No.080/RCC/E[protected] dated 05/12/2016.

At that time Ms.Renuka madam was there and she told me that the deposit is taking for safety and if the student damage anything in I tutor class then they will deduct the cost from the security deposit. Otherwise they will refund full amount i.e. Rs.5000/- after completion of the course.

However, after completion of course when I asked for refund they told me that only Rs.802/- will be refunded as they have deducted Rs.4198/- as GST. Sir Aakash has never informed us regarding GST deduction earlier. Now they are cheating us.

Sir request you to please help me to get the refund of Rs.5000/- without any deduction.

Sir they are taking very high fees for 2 years. However, we are giving that fee for good of our child. At the time of admission they have told us the faculty will not change in between and good faculty will be there etc. But they have not full filled that commitment also.

Aakash Institute Customer Care's response Dear Parent! Thank you writing to us. Kindly refer to our appended mail dated 11th June 2019 sent to yourself, which is self-explanatory on the subject of security deposit and deduction if any thereof.
“Refundable Security Deposit: Each student will be charged ` 5000/- as refundable security deposit for Medical & Engineering Long Term Courses, ` 1000/- as refundable security deposit for Medical & Engineering Short Term Courses and ` 2000/- as refundable security deposit for Foundation Courses (Classes IX & X) at the time of admission. This amount shall be refunded to the student after deducting miscellaneous charges if any within three months from the date of completion of their respective courses via cheque or directly into their account, if the bank details are provided by the student / parents.
In case, the Central Govt. levies any kind of indirect tax or increases the existing GST of 18%, then, the additional liability will be payable by the student/parent. In case of non-payment, the same shall be recovered from student via debit from their security deposit. Moreover, any fee dues or pending payments or penalties due towards AESL shall also be debited from the security deposit amount.”

Accordingly, a refund of INR 802/ has been processed. Hope the above is of order.

I have noted the reply of Aaksh Institute. Sir I would like to inform you that at the time of taking deposit /Admission Aakash Institute has not informed us about such deduction. They only told me that they will refund the full amount after completion of course. Now they are cheating sir. We have paid very high amount as tution fee. They have not fulfilled their commitment of good teaching and facility also.

I am not agree with Aakash Institute reply.
