I had ported my number from Vodafone to Airtel few years back and bought an airtel sim that time. I have recently purchased a 4g handset and decided to swap my old airtel 3g sim for a 4g sim.
I approached airtel store and got the sim swapped by sending sim number to 121 and the rest of the process. Within few minutes the new sim got activated but i wasnt getting any 4g network (Open network showed good signal).
i called customer care and i was told that i dont have a 4g enabled sim, so i went to Airtel store again and i was told that there is a problem with 4g activation and they will be sending a BACK-END mail to Airtel. i waited 2 days but still no response.
I went to airtel store again and this time they asked me to change sim again. i was provided with a new 4g sim and sim number sent to 121 and rest of the process done but till date my new sim isnt getting activated.
since almost 20 days i have been repeatedly going to airtel office and calling customer care but nothing works out. everyone is clueless.
As of now, on advice by airtel store i have tried swapping to new sim card 3 times but all i get is '- your sim will be activated shortly'
Im surprised that when a newcomer like Jio can offer 4g so easily, then why cant established operators like Airtel help me solve my problem.
If things doesnt work out, I have only 1 option- to bid goodbye to airtel and move to another operator. Was this information helpful? |
