Amazon India — Return pickup from other city

The Amazon customer care team has denied the return pickup of an item from other city other than the place of delivery with the reason that the company policy does not allow this.
What is logic in it . Heaven will not fall if it is picked up from the other city other than the place of delivery.
The customers have reasons for its pickup from other city.
Before this important issue is legally decided under the law of the land you are requested to rethink on it and change your return policy
