Hi. This is what happened with my Zenfone 5. The display conked while I was using the phone. I visited F1 solutions in Dadar. In 2 min, without even doing proper inspection, they diagnosed that it is a physical damage (internally!!!) and not covered under warranty. So I need to pay around 4400 INR to get it repaired. I argued and didnt accept the diagnosis. so they asked me to call customer care. I argued with the engineer Mr. Deepak together with Customer Care executive Mr. Nadeem for more than an hour and Mr. Deepak could not give me any satisfactory reason for diagnosing internal damage. He said it is because of pressure. So what I fail to understand
is that they claim they use Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (which in advertisement shows that even striking a hammer on the phone will not break it) then how can there be an internal damage to the screen resulting in the liquid to spread with normal use. He went to the extent of telling me that there would have been pressure on the phone lying in
your pocket!!! Is this a joke? I mean where is a person supposed to keep the phone if not in his pocket! Does Asus manufacture Zenfone with such cheap and sub-standard spare parts? I would also clarify that there is no sign of any physical damage on the body of the phone (not even a scratch)! Then how can the screen get damaged internally? The customer care executives are also not responding with any resolution just asking me to mail here and there! I will have no other option but to proceed against them in the court of law/consumer forum. Anyone facing similar problem with ASUS product is free to join the action against them. They are cheating customers! I have registered complaint on the email they provided (RMA number INR64B0014 and case no A[protected]. Also attached is pic of my phone as a proof of what i said above.
