On November 4th, I spent 1699 on a pair of slippers for my wife at BATA boutique in Chennai's VR Mall. To our surprise, the sole has now developed a crack out of nowhere after just one week. Since the 1980s, I haven't seen a product like that.
On November 28, I brought the slippers to the store, but Mr. Prashanth refused them, saying that the heat from the bike silencer had partially burned the sole. I'm including images of the item along with a copy of the bill.
Now, my questions are
1. No other sharp objects were involved in the crack. It unquestionably results from the manufacturing end's failure. Why then wasn't it returned or replaced?
2. The shopkeeper explained that the slipper wasn't replaced because of the partially burned section. Its susceptibility to heat was never disclosed to me. All these years, I have never witnessed a Bata product be burned by the heat. Whose fault was it if I wasn't informed about the use of this specific slipper? There was no literature instructing its use in the same way. Then?
So, if you could, please assist me. I'm grateful. Thank you.
Regards
Robert John
