During the sale event of Flipkart's big billion day, Cleartrip (A child company of Flipkart) introduced an offer of "EZcancel" which when added along with travel booking (for additional charge), refunds the entire booking amount(as advertised) if cancellation by the customer is done before 72 hours of departure of flight.
I found this advertisement useful, as I was booking a trip which I may need to cancel based on some circumstance, and went ahead to book the tickets with EZCancel. As foreseen, I had to cancel the trip and called the Cleartrip's customer care to cancel my tickets, I got shocked after hearing the cancellation amount which was less than 45% of the booking amount. I wen't ahead and re-read the terms and condition to verify what I had just heard, and I saw that there own policy says I should be getting full refund (see point 6 in https://www.cleartrip.com/ezcancel/free-flight-cancellation) .
They said that they cannot refund "hidden" "ClearTrip" fee which was 3000 INR.
More over, when I pointed the EZcancel policy page (https://www.cleartrip.com/ezcancel/free-flight-cancellation) out with the customer care representative and tried to talk with them, they said that the cleartrip fee is not shown when booking and it cannot be refunded. The customer care representative also used FOUL language tome and told that cleartrip is not responsible if I choose EZcancel.
This is nothing but a brutal FRAUD that ClearTrip is doing publicly to loot the customers.
