[Resolved]  Accu - Chek Active — window display error E-5

To overcome error 5, simply clean the strip reading whole through which the light comes on the back of the strip. I did the same and everything back to normal.

I have prchased an accu -Check blood sugar monitor from Canteen Stores dept, jabalpur. Unfortunately the eqpt is not functioning, showing Error E-5, while testing of sugar. I am getting truble, because it is nedded to be get blood test reguraly. Please arrange repair/replacement for same on priority.

I purchased an Accu-chek Active Monitor in July 2011. i has been working fine until recently. It was displaying an E-5 error message and now it trips off after acknowledging the strip code. How do i deal with this issue. please i am in Nigeria and i don't know what to do next. I am insulin dependent as i have type 1 diabetes. i don't like taking my drugs blindly so i need a solution to my monitor problems immediately. please i need assistance from you. thank you.

Yes same problem here. My mother is using the accu check Active for the last 3 years with no problem. However this E-5 is creating big problem. Can Accu check give some solution to this problem please.

Dear sir,

1. Your accu-chek active machine may not be spoiled.
2. Your test-strips are expired!
3. Unfortunately the company has practically fooled you by not explicitly mentioning the expiry date clearly on test strip cover or container.
4. But legally it is there. You will find the expiry date on top of the cover in which the container is kept.
5. The year and the month is embossed on the top of the cover. Eg: 2015-01.
6. This is mentioned in the instruction sheet kept in the cover, page 3, under the heading: storing and using the test strips properly.
7. A simple buyer like me or you, will not read all these and we loose lots of money!
8. So check next time you buy the test-strips.

I am suffering problem in which e5 code is coming in accu check. Expiry date is june 2016. And the code e5 is showing from 20th june. Is all my strips have expired and are now being wasted or there is any solution to use these expired strips.
