My father had an Airtel post-paid connection, which he surrendered after duly paying the outstanding bill on 6.6.07. however, since then the Airtel people have been bothering him for a futher payment of Rs 695. Everytime, he clarifes by producing the payment receipt & subscription cancellation receipt.
Now, they've sent him a legal notice implicating him in the court of law. there is no response from airtel customer care, I've also sent a mail to [protected]@airtelindia.com which is as follows-
Sir,
My father, Ram chandra Singh Rawat, had an Airtel post-paid connection ( no - [protected]) which he duly surrendered on 6.6.07 at the following Airtel office -
Fastrack Communications
3, Janakpuri, Rajendra Nagar Chauraha, Bareilly(U.P.)
He also surrendered the sim-card which was broken & destroyed by the Airtel officials. Also, he deposited the final bill of Rs 1076 by cash ( Receipt no[protected]
We were given the subscription cancellation request receipt ( S. No 18496 - Fastrack Communications) which duly states that there is no current outstanding bill.
For the past 6 months, he is being continuously harrassed by Airtel people, asking for a sum of rs 695 as outstanding bill. Each time, we have clarified duly producing the bill payment receipt & Subscription cancellation request receipt. we have spoken many times at your customer care no and have been assured that they'll look into the matter. However, no steps have been taken in this regard.
Now, my father has been served a legal notice (no PC/16/2248) claiming that he has not paid outstanding bill of Rs 695, and charging him under IPC 406 & 420.
the above facts clearly underline that 'Airtel' is a customer unfriendly , unreliable, & non-responsive service provider. My father has been harrassed for the last 6 months and now he's being falsely implicated in the court of law. Your customer care is pathetic. The people who answer the calls are unresponsive, inefficient & have no idea of what their job is, except for saying 'Sir, we'll look into the matter & get back you soon"
hence, I request you to look into the matter & solve it as soon as possible, otherwise I'll be copelled to take up the matter in consumer court.

I had made a wrong e-recharge for Rs440/- on mobile no. [protected] instead of [protected] on 14.11.2008, around 1.10PM TXID: 48265928. Since friday (14th Nov) my retail shop person trying to retrieve the amount from the SIM-[protected] (which we made it wrong) through his distributor & also through your airtel personnel. Then we came to know that the no. which we had made wrong recharge is not yet activated and your personnel informed that your system facing problem for retrieving money from deactivated SIM. Onething I could`t understand how your system accepting recharge for the SIM card which is not yet activated.
On 17th Nov-08, I personally had a talk with ur customer care person to sort the problem (ref no.[protected]). As advised by your customer care person, I went to airtel office, Alkapuri, Vadodara on 18th Nov-08 around 7PM. Your personnel had informed that the problem can be sorted out only through retail shop person/distributor. I`m very disappointed with the kind of answer & service provided by the Airtel.
