In June this year (2012) I had surrendered my Airtel broadband and landline connections. Account number - [protected]. The executive who came home then, collected the modem and the telephone set. I had paid the final settlement of Rs. 899 in the form of cash. I have the receipt of the same. However, I continue receiving bills for the landline connection which I no longer hold. I have been pestered with numerous calls from Airtel executives asking me to clear my dues. When I finally tried to explain the situation to one of the executives, I was told that even though the broadband connection is disconnected, the landline number is still active on my name. How could this happen? I never told them I was interested in continuing with the landline connection. How could they charge me for it when they even took away the telephone set. Why should I pay for a service that I do not have? Was this information helpful? |
