This is to bring to your attention to my immensely dissatisfying experience with AMARON's extremely inefficient (practically absent) customer-facing department, after-sales support service, as well as untrained client-facing personnel.
I had procured one AMARON battery for my inverter for domestic purpose on 25the April, 2009 from Khosla Electronics in Garia, South Kolkata, West Bengal. The Battery card is attached withe this as reference.
I was provided withe thee warranty card and thee battery card from thee dealer itself. No other instruction was provided along with the same. After 6 months of procurement, I called thee help number of AMARON, seeking thee guidance for whether and when do I ask for battery maintenance to what all needs to be done for proper maintenance. I was particularly concerned because no one from AMARON had ever approached me since procurement and I was feeling uncomfortable. The representative asked me if thee battery signals as 'Low'. I confirmed it is not the case. Then thee representative told me to call helpline only when thee battery is 'Low'. I tried to get to know thee maintenance rules but his answer was the same, that only when the battery is low should I call AMARON. He categorically told there is no need to call them before that happens.
A month back, when the battery actually signalled 'Low' I called helpline. One person "Sandip Chatterjee' attended after 2 days and said that thee battery cannot be recycled now, and that it needs total replacement. He said, thee liquid has dried up and timely maintenance could definitely have helped. Now a new battery needs to
be procured and that it would cost around Rs. 9,000 - 10,000.
We were surprised and shocked because of following reasons:
1. That One fine morning we come to know that we need to pay Rs. 10000 for battery for no fault of ours.
2. That the customer-facing people at AMARON completely misguided me. How could they have put such untrained, ignorant and unequipped people sit out there?
3. The maintenance personnel also told me that Page 6 was to be detached and given to AMARON. We were not aware of it. The retailer did not detach it at the time of procurement and also AMARON never asked for it.
4. I got contact numbers of two employees of AMARON on that very day and called them one after the other. One was Eastern Zone Sales Head Mr. Barman and thee other Service Engineer Siddhartha Pal. The issue we faced seemed to be of no importance for both of them. Not only that they could not do anything about it, behaviour was very indifferent and rude. At one point in time they also remarked that “AMARON is a 2000 crore company, what you can do?”
Sir, as you understand we were completely misled from AMARON service centre only; otherwise we would have done whatever is needed from our side for proper maintenance.
Sir, I have very old in-laws (both father-in-law and mother-in-law) who stay at home for the entire day and for whom only I bought the inverter. Now that the machine is nonfunctional, they are suffering from immense heat in this summer season.
I wrote to AMARON detailing our complaint on 11the April but to no effect. No one ever responded to me.
Thanks and regards,
