[Resolved]  Auto Driver — Excess meter fare

On 30/8/2010, I was travelling from Ghatkopar west ( Near Shreyas Cinema) to Chembur Post office. The auto no. was MH 03 AK 5883. The meter moved very fast. There was no traffic snarls anywhere. The fare came to Rs.61.00, where as normally it comes to about Rs. 45 - 50. When I told him that the meter was not correct, he kept quite and did not utter a word. I am a regular traveller using auto from chembur to Ghatkopar and and back. Therefore, I am able to know the tampered meters.

Of late 80% of the autos that I hire seem to have their meters tampered. The difference is really noticeable, when you travel by a honest auto. Earlier, only about 50% autos used to be likes this, but now this has become an accepted phenomenon. sometimes, one wonders, if this is with the connivance of the authorities concerned. Such rampant fleecing of customers must be dealt with severely, otherwise, it may flare out of control.

Auto Driver — Asking for more money than the fare allotted

well i wanted to go to paschim vihar GH - 14 from Hari nagar, New Delhi - 110064
The auto driver refused to go with the meter n asked for more money giving an excuse that road is very much crowded with traffice..
the number of auto was - DL 1 rh 2674
