[Resolved]  Cognizant Technology Solutions — does not release offer letter after selected interviews and sending joining documents

I am agreeing too, Cognizant is the most unprofessional company I have ever gave interview to.I have over 4.5 years of experience in IT industry.I have given interview in Cognizant 2 times and each time I was selected .one time I had given on 2 yrs 10 months of working exp and second time I has given on 3 yrs 11 month working exp.Both time I was selected.I was selected in the interview after two rounds of interview with themHR told that they donot want to let me go and asked me to resign from my current job also as they will definitely send me the offer in one week .I was selected on 15th dec 2012. but I did not hear from them for 1.5 month .
the HR mails and says that my profile is on hold from business.
I shared the no. with all selected people that day and other days also, but all got the same reply.

(Here I want to clear the thing that package was not concern they them self offer me near to 7 on 4 yrs of exp on associate designation.)

Why in the first place did they ask me to sit for the interview and select me.
It would have been better if they would have rejected me in the beginning.

I noticed that through out the past 1.5 year they conduct the walk in for Informatica /BO/Data stage /abinitio /oracle /unix and many other skills each saturday at senapati bapat road .they select the people but they donot release the offer . I donot want to say this but I clearly noticed they just want to waste common IT people or job seeker time.
If you want to waste the time ...go there .. I have shared the same exp . more than 50 people from same /different skills.

I agree with you this is every where in organization .I was removed from the organization(not this organization not but for stupid reasons. Preference. is given to close relatives I am having lots of gaps with this kind of behavior.
I am facing this issue for through ot my 16 Yrs of career. When you have gaps most companies are hesitant to take you.

i had a v bad exp with cognizant today, I was called for interview on there pune centre, he took my telephonic interview over an Hour and it went well except for 2 questions i was unble to ans as it was not my skill set, he then said all the people answers are same i want yours to be different, he wanted things and answers what he knows, and then he said ask HR to be online, i could listen what he told HR as it was on telephone and i could hear him, as the vol was high, he said i am ok, not smart and then said no to me, I asked HR she said Feedback is i am not technically sound which was completely wrong feedback this people know how to waste our time, I am highly disappointed with this company who dosent even care about people who come for interview and just that i am not smart he rejected me, Trust me people i have a 4 yrs of exp and never saw such unprofessional HR's and interview panel .

I too had the same experience recently . I went to SB road around a Month back and gone through 1st round of technical interview they said there will be 2nd telephonic interview on week days and i left . Then they called me on one fine day after 2 weeks (I was totally forgotten about the Cognizant by then ) and asked to go to their Hingewadi office where these guys interviewed me for 1.5 Hours and asked me to leave as i was pretty sure about the interview i left and then again some day after 4-5 days and Manager from Cogni called and started asking me if i am interrested for another project and he also mentioned that due to you have got regected in client interview which as per Him was telephonic (Which never Happened) and asked me to confirm if i am ok for the another project and he also mentioned that there will be more 3 rounds if i would be interrested in his project .I badly insulted that guy (Manager) and cut the call .

Then again after 2 days another manager from Credit swiss called (Note that she was not aware of the fact that i have already gone through 2 rounds of telephonic interview ) and asked me to schedule telephonic interview i thought i should take a chance (as anyways it was going tp be telephonic) Interview went too good .


Now the week has passed and there is no call from Cognizant !!! These guys are really so i have decided to teach them a lesson my way dont know how but i will find some trick and this post is a part of it.

I am vinothkumar E I was worked in cognizant my id is 368892. I came out from company on may 28 2013. Because of not clear my assessment. I met HR they told we gave you two month salary. I ask many time to them but they not give proper response. so help me how to get it? what is the processor to get it?

I too had bad experience with some of the top IT companies like Cognizant, Ness. I got select for both these companies, they didn't release the offer. I'm not sure what the issue is? Both the companies have told me that I have got selected but didn't released the offer letter even after 2 months. Someone has to take strict action on such fraud companies who simply waste the time of IT employees. If they had problem with package then they can reject the application before shortlisting for interview. Cheap companies cheap tricks.

I guess it is part of nexus between all the consultancies and recruiting HR. If you are not referred by any consultancy then chances are slim that you will get the offer letter even after clearing the technical round. The reason is simple, because recruting such guys will prevent the HR to get a share of money that the consultancies are supposed to get. Consultancies will always push their candidates to various companies to draw money from them and a part of which will obviously to go the recruiting HR for giving priority to such candidates.

Guys we all sail in the same boat. But, what is the point?
Is Cognizant going to stop playing these cheap tricks just bcos we are posting here??

I think One of the respondents above have rightly pointed. These days IT companies go strictly on need based hiring. The companies keep ready stock of candidate profiles who have been interviewed and selected, but offers not released -just like some sort of inventory. If a need arises in a project then hr will search their database, identify the candidate and release the offer letter. Well, whether you guys call it a selfish approach or whatever, IT companies' managements have become very commercial and no sincerity or concerns towards candidates. So, even if anyone gets a job offer you need not be loyal, just work within your scope of work - get salary and be content. Keep looking out for better opportunities and if you strike one, just go for it.

i am facing the same problem, HR called me 4 days back and said i am
selected and want to have salary discussion. when dscsn was done and i
acceped the figure verbally, she said she is going to release offer by
EOD and i will recieve email. its been 4 days she is not contactable.
not responding to my emails. i think there is some thing wrong. if they
have to create internal position why they dscsd the salary and promised
to release offer at all. very unprofessional
