Had booked a taxi thro EASY CAB Call Centre on 18th July. The pickup was scheduled at 04.15 AM in the morning since i had an early morning flight to catch from the domestic airport. The call centre exec. also informed me that i will have to pay 200/- INR for the journey (meru charges me 120/- for the same distance) but since it was early morning, i didn't mind paying extra. Got a confirmation sms with cab / driver details in the morning as indicated. However at 3.45 am, the driver called me to check the pickup point. When the chap realized that i stay in khar which is not far off from the airport, he started cribbing and refused to pick me up saying that such a short distance is not profitable - infact he had the nerve to tell me to call centre and ask for another cab. I promptly rung up the call centre at 4 am to complain - they only apologized and could just do nothing against the errant driver and also could not arrange for an alternative - eventually i had to manage on my own at such an unearthly hour. Its sad to realize that neither the Easy Cab Service centre cares about customers neither do their drivers - the attitude and professionalism is no different that the regular taxiwallas. If a cab service cannot stick to its commitments and has no control over drivers, it has no business to be in that field. Moreover this is not the 1st time that i had this experience with EASY CABS - twice earlier, they confirmed a cab pickup and cancelled it just 30 mins before the scheduled departure in the guise of technical issue (it can't be for any other reason but the short distance) ...
