Dear Sir/Mam,
I was at 33 weeks of maternity on the day of Journey (18th April 2010). Following were my booking with Indigo Air Lines. I was traveling with my Brother in Law “Mr Ramesh Kumar”.
• Hyderabad to Jaipur – 18th April 2010 - 20:50 -- 6E 152– PNR – T36PLB
Indigo person incharge Hyderabad Airport, didn’t allow us to travel on that day. Initially gave us both the boarding pass. After sometime they asked to produce “Fit to Fly” certificate. I was carrying “Fit to Fly” certificate given by our doctor at Hyderabad. It told that they allow only till 32 weeks but nothing was mentioned in the ticket. and i was carrying the certificate as advised by my doctor.
I have produced following items
• All the maternity documents from Hyderabad Vikram Hospital by “Dr G. Premlatha” dated 17th April 2010. Everything was normal with my scan reports.
I was ready to sign on “indemnity bond” and I was very much fit to travel. I also said I will travel on my risk.
Even with all those documents they have stopped us to travel on 18th April from Hyderbad to Jaipur.
I have following question
• Why Indigo stopped me to travel at 33 week of normal pregnancy where as all other airlines in the world are not so strict till 34weeks of pregnancy.
I request Indigo Airlines to take following actions.
• Refund “Six Thousands Rupee or 6794.00 RS” to my credit card. I was told that i will be given a Indigo credit on my name which can be used in a span of one year. but it is not acceptable as i need to book my tickets by some other airlines which allows me to travel in 33 weeks.
I have checked the pregnancy rules with following air lines
• Air India
o At the time of making the booking, if the pregnancy is beyond 32 weeks, upto and including 35 weeks, a medical certificate from the attending physician must be obtained stating that she is fit to travel.
• King Fisher
o For travel within India, an expectant mother is permitted to travel till the end of 36th week without a medical certificate provided there are no prior medical complications
• JetLite
o Expectant Mothers, till the end of 35 weeks of pregnancy may be permitted to fly on JetLite flights provided there are no prior complications.
Thanks and regards,
Renu Sharma

I would be interested to know how this was resolved. Did you get the refund? Not sure why Indigo's policy is so different from the other airline policies...
I bought ticket for my journey from Bangalore to Jaipur on 9th July 2011.
Indigo Airline Ticket PNR: HEZ7CT. My wife was 34 weeks pregnant at that point of time. When I bought tickets there were nothing related to this written on Terms & Condition in ticket. I checked google and in http://www.yatra.com/fare-rules.html its written --- In case of normal pregnancies, expectant mothers, up to 32 weeks of pregnancy may be permitted to fly on IndiGo flights provided there are no prior complications. After this a certificate, from the treating obstetrician, is required stating number of weeks the pregnancy has advanced and that the passenger is fit to travel by air. I had that day's fit to fly medical certificate from Manipal Hospital, and still was not allowed to travel. All other flights allowed travel with the medical certificate within 35 weeks of pregnancy. It was an emergency travel requirement, and i had to buy Jet Airways ticket to go to Delhi and then take a bus to go to Jaipur, with my Pregnant wife. This was very risky, and I had to incur huge cost for last minute ticket. I asked the Indigo agent to cancel my ticket. I have yet not got any refund money in my credit card. I have raised the issue with the Indigo Feedback area without any resolution till now.

what a dumb complaint to raise, you people don't read the terms & conditions & there is a special section of special assistance of the INDIGO website which you I believe have never seen. Moreover, on yatra also when you saw that it is clearly mentioned upto 32 weeks, so why did you make the booking ?? Even if you couldn't find any rules related to the travel of pregnant women you could have called the toll free number of INDIGO to clarify your doubt, but you never did that and now you want to claim the money .. don't ever think of otherwise you will be in trouble as you don't hold a valid point to complain on ..
Veru worst experiance for peagnant womens a
As they cant recivee for some days with the loc travel only. Instead of this local travel askibg certificate and all if they allow in flight that would reduce somuch pragnant wonen effort normally airports will be outside of the city. Hospital will be mid of the city. Even i lost 10k because of that people. My PNR is JDRN3C. Indigo sucks pragnant womens. Very worst i have never seen in my life. Indigo indirectly doing robbery by all pragnant women money. If really want both mother and baby both should be safe indigo is not suitable. Waste of money and time and lost of energy. Very very very bad...

I was at 27 week of maternity on the day of Journey (21st Mar 2010). Following were my booking with Indigo Air Lines. I was traveling with my Husband “Mr Subrata Roy”.
• Agartala Kolkata – 21st Mar 2010/15:25 -- 6E 362– PNR – Q2BCLG
• Kolkata Bangalore -- 21st Mar 2010/19:35 – 6E 342 – PNR – S2CDCI
Indigo person incharge “Mr Arindam Deb Barman” at Agartala Airport, didn’t allow us to travel on that day. Initially gave us both the boarding pass. After sometime they asked to produce “Fit to Fly” certificate. I was not charring “Fit to Fly” certificate as our doctor at Bangalore said till 34 week nothing is required.
I have produced following items
• Prescription from “Dr Partha Pratim Saha”, Agartala dated 16th Feb 2010 stating everything normal.
• All the maternity documents from Bangalore Manipal Hospital by “Dr Shoba Venkat” dated 20th Jan 2010. Everything was normal with my scan reports.
• Also produced “Fit to Fly” certificated from local doctor in short time. Which they invalided saying the certificate is not written on paper Pad.
I was ready to sign on “indemnity bond” and I was very much fit to travel. I also said I will travel on my risk.
Even with all those documents they have stopped us to travel on 21st of March 2010 from Agartala-kolkata-Bangalore.
It cost us following
• It costs “Six Thousands Rupee or 6000.00 RS” for rescheduling all tickets.
• Harassed us at Agartala Airport.
• My scan Appointment at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore got cancelled.
• My Husband lost 1 day at work and missed important meeting there.
“Mr Arindam Deb Barman” has re-scheduled our tickets as following
• Agartala Kolkata -- 22nd Mar 2010/10:10 – 6E 204 -- PNR -- Q2BCLG
• Kolkata Bangalore -- 22nd Mar 2010/15:20 – 6E 156 -- PNR -- S2CDCI
We have produced “Fit to Fly” certificated on 22nd Mar 2010 to travel from Agartala to Kolkata.
In Kolkata to Bangalore flight nobody asked me to produce “Fit to Fly”. They asked me to sign only “indemnity bond” . They helped a lot in while travelling in Kolkata to Bangalore flight.
I have following question
• Why rules/treatment in Agartala Airport and Kolkata Airport not same.
• Why Indigo stopped me to travel at 27 week of normal pregnancy where as all other airlines in the world are not so strict till 34weeks of pregnancy.
• One person from Agartala Indigo Airlines said that pregnancy rules is available in e-tickets which totally wrong statement.
I request Indigo Airlines to take following actions.
• Refund “Six Thousands Rupee or 6000.00 RS” to my Husband credit card.
• Take action on Indigo in charged person “Mr Arindam Deb Barman” at Agartala Airport for harassing a pregnant woman.
I have checked the pregnancy rules with following air lines
• Air India
o At the time of making the booking, if the pregnancy is beyond 32 weeks, upto and including 35 weeks, a medical certificate from the attending physician must be obtained stating that she is fit to travel.
