We had the shock of our life when kept back at the desk and not allowed onboard , courtesy Indigo & sub courtesy Make my trip .. Me and my husband were scheduled to fly on Indigo Flight 06E-244 from Mumbai to Cochin departing at 11:40hrs on Monday, July 2nd, 2012. We reached the Indigo counter at 10:40 hrs (a good one hour before),yet the staff at the counter and the Supervisor Megha did not let us board the flight. We then literally begged them to either accomodate us on a next flight or a atleast connecting flight to cochin but all they said was the flights weren't available same day or book another flight day next and we would have to pay balance on increased on spot booking. We were required to fly same day and as a result suffered huge loss as we had to book a flight on another airline at high rates. Not only we lost the fare for the dis allowed Indigo flight Rs. 9448/- for a couple but also were forced to opt for another airlines high cost Spicejet flight Rs.15448 /-for a couple.It was straight loss of Rs. 24896/- which was undoubtedly painful. Do you think any deserving passenger is worth this much a trauma? With this I'm opined for sure that the flight was overbooked so we were'nt allowed on the flight. I want a full refund from the airline and an compensation for the loss suffered. If at Indigo, this is what passengers have to experience, I d rather never Fly Indigo! Going forward, I'd chose never fly Indigo nor recommend it to anybody. Hope you do not mete out such frustrating experiences to any passengers. I sincerely await my refund (lost hope & its a lost cause case now ) and that's the last thing I expect _________________________________ And now for Shockers ! This is what Indigo customer desk shamelessly fabricated & reverted indifferently when we complained to the escalation matrix : ... We thank you for choosing IndiGo. On the same note, we thank you for writing to us. At the outset, we regret the inconvenience caused. I have personally investigated the case and please find the below mentioned factual observations. 1. You were booked on our flight 6E 244 from Mumbai to Kochi on 2nd July 2012. 2. There was no delay in the flight however you have reported at check-in counters after the counters were closed for the flight. May we clarify that, as per conditions of carriage, which states “In order to maintain schedules, the check-in counter closes 45 minutes before departure time.” Our staff offered re-accommodation with fare applicable charges and fare difference in a way to save the entire ticket amount from being forfeited which was declined by you. Further, I would like to inform you that once a booking is made, the basic fare and all IndiGo surcharges paid are non-refundable. If you do not check-in for a flight at least 45 minutes prior to its scheduled departure time, this total amount will get forfeited. However, the passenger is entitled to a refund of the Government of India applicable amount of the Passenger Service Fee and User Development Fee only whereas the other taxes are non-refundable. Adhering to this policy, INR 233 towards Passenger Service Fee per passenger and INR 113 towards user development fees under booking confirmation number will be refunded shortly to the travel agency account used for booking. May we request you to claim it from the same travel agent. Notwithstanding the above, we hope that you will choose IndiGo for your future travel and that we will be able to show you a product and service that we are proud to offer. I'm sure no one wants to go thru this trauma and retaliation drama .And when Indigo just wants to pile up with bookings & not give customer the deserved service,why the hell they tie up with Make my trip & other sites when their management is THIRD RATED ??? They simply want ppl to throng their portals and then make allegations on innocent clients ? This not only fraudulent cheating, it IS an offence .
