I am a satisfied customer of Maruti from last 5 years. I purchased a Maruti Swifit Car ( Swift Petrol VXI) from Vipul Motors Pvt. Ltd vide Vehicle Registration number HR 26 AK 0282 in the year 2007. I am doing regular Service of my car from Vipul Motors Pvt Ltd. Recently on 25th June,2012 I have given my Car for regular servicing as well as servicing of AC as it was not cooling properly. One of the representative from Vipul Motors Anil Walia told me that he needs to keep the car for one extra day as they need time to do servicing of AC & I got the car back from Vipul on 26th June. After the service I am getting the cool but some noise is coming when I am driving the car on 1st or 2nd gear & the noise increased significantly. But there is no sound when I am driving at a speed of more than 30 to 60 KMPH & the cool is really good. I went back twice to the Vipul Motors with the complain & once they told me to come some other day & the next time they do it some testing & told in future there will be no sound. But again same noise is coming & I met with AGM Mr. Amit Sharma ( [protected]) & he told to come in one of the day when a engineer from Factory will visit his centre. I went on 12th July as got a call from Anil Walia & got the car back with same noise after the inspection & so called repair from the factory engineer. Now they are saying me to purchase the AC compressor as it cannot be repaired.

But there was no noise sound was reported when I gave my car on 25th June for AC servicing. If there was some issue/error from the Engineer during the AC servicing then why the customer will bear the cost of AC compressor. No AC noise sound was reported in my last 5 years driving & even when I gave my car for servicing no sound was reported ,even you can check the Job Card. After servicing if any noise is coming , is this issue with AC Compressor if yes then why it is running really smooth & cool in more than 40 KMPH. Whatever the cause will be why customer is to suffer for the fault from the Vipul Side.

It is definitely some issue from the Vipul side only as in the last 12th July visit , no Job card was open for the inspection/ repair.

I am attaching the bill of 26th June & also the Invoice of 12th July for your reference. 12th July Invoice it is showing Misc Labour charges but not mentioned of AC repair.

Hoping to get a positive response at the earliest.

I too have the same problem. I bought MARUTI SWIFT VXI (TN10W4782) with CARS INDIA, Valasaravakkam, Chennai and servicing through them (Ambattur service centre) from the date of purchase in 2009. I have driven this car of 63000 KM and the noise started from 55000 km. When I checked with MASS they confirmed that the compressor should be replaced along with condenser. Total estimate given by them for Rs.27000/- and there is no warranty for the compressor and condenser. I have made the compliant to MARUTI about the issue and there is no response from them till date. But, CARS INDIA retained my car for a week to check and again given report stating that the noise because of wear and team and it cannot be repairable and compressor along with condenser should be replaced. Finally, I have checked outside mechanic who is reliable, he is quoting around Rs.19000/- for the same job and I am not understanding why CARS INDIA charging (looting) this much extra amount from the loyal customer of Maruti.

It is been confirmed that the problem is not with wear and tear and the compressor provided by MARUTI for this model is having manufacturing defect and this is intentionally hided by MARUTI to its customers and cheating to the customers by providing the faulty parts and it is not accepting its mistake stating that there is no warranty after 2 years.

maruti Swift petrol — claim

I purchased maruti swift petrol from apra auto on 9th jan 2008. It met with an accident after some time and all the repairs were done by apra auto it was a major repair job.The car caught fire suddenly when it was running their were fumes coming out of the A/c vent we just managed to come out some how car was gutted completely.The incident happened within 15 days, after the car was repaired and serviced that is[protected].Even the car was insured from national insurance company with whoom maruti is having its tieup and always presses hard its customers to take this particular insurance(national).Now the insurance company has denied me claim saying firstly the cause of fire is unknown, however it is not the job of customer to find the reason and secondly they are asking me to approach apra auto for claim. Now both the parties are throwing the ball in each others court but im suffering a lot because of this even the financers are harrasing me for installments.

Me too having the same problem with my 6 year old Swift Zxi. Heavy noice is coming when Ac is on. It started after the last service from Khivraj motors chennai. and now they are telling that there is some problem with the AC compressor and it needs a replacement which might cost me around 20k all together.

Hey this seems to b a common complaint with swift ac..i also have swift2007 model...xactly d same issue...wen i gv my car fr servicing there was no sound frm ac bt after dat it always makes a horrible noise wch d mechanic says is irreparable n i need to change my compressor..cost os around 20k...dunno wat to do...help!!!

Exact same problem in my swift vxi as well which is 6yrs old now and the service advisor claim it to b a common problem with swift petrol variants. This is something maruti has to b ashamed off for not testing such conditions on petrol variants. I love my car very much but with this one now i am a very unsatisfied customer of maruti. I have a similar problem with my New swift LDI, just run 10K, getting ticking sound from the AC compressor, it was not getting cooler after the engine gets heated..I complained it during the 3rd free service. Mechanic checked and told me no issues they found dust in AC filter and replaced it, checked the temperature it is working fine and delivered the CAR. The problem was still their... the mechanic now says issues with the compressor. They have removed the compressor and sent it for verification today

Hopefully I should get a replacement under warranty. If found to be an issue with the compressor

Any suggestions ??

My Swift Vxi has same problem. The authorisedn dealer says that it cannot be repaired and the entire A/C must be changed.

Guys those whose car is under warranty complaint it now and document it by writing a letter. As its a manufacturing defect and Maruti denys it after warranty is over saying its old and it happens due to wear and tear. However its a manufacturing defect. If anyone with warranty has this issue let me know. As I want to complaint against maruti for giving a product which has replacement for sure after 5-6 years that too without mentioning about it... my email id [protected]@yahoo.com

My car is second hand manufacturing 2007 but I found out that this a real manufacturing defect.

i have the same problem with SWIFT ZXi. The noise is very irritating and none of the mechanics are giving any solution. Everybody says its a MARUTI problem and manufacturing defect.
