Address: Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra |
I relocated to Mumbai from Delhi after marriage and submitted application for fresh passport to include surname and address change. Application date 10-Oct-11; FileNo: E039134. I am in urgent need of the passport in order to get my visa formalities completed. However, the process is taking very long.
Although the police verification was completed on 20-Oct, the report was sent to RPO only on 02-Nov-11. Police website shows the verification status as complete but the passport website still shows 'Police report not received' after almost a week. I now have no way of knowing if and when the police verification report has been received by RPO. This is bound to delay the passport issuance even further.
I even sent an email to the grievance/complaints officer listed on the passport website but to no avail. At this point I am helpless, exhausted and frustrated with nowhere to go. Can you please help me out on any possible action from my side to ensure that I receive the passport soon? Was this information helpful? |
I had my passport in my maidens name, I got married few yrs back, & had a son from the wed-lock, Unfortunately divorced my husband, & recently got remarried with a NRI. It took me 5 months to get my new Passport with my current Name. Now i want to get setteled abroad with my husband & son (whos custody lies with my) asap. My son is a Minor, (6 yrs old). I dont understand wat documents these passport authorities really need to issue a passport for my son with his New fathers name, I had gone to the old passport office (worli) but the people in the enquiry counter themselves dont know what is the requirement. these people are pathetic, i hav been meeting different agents but all hav different things to say. i wanted to start a new life with my husband & son, but its very sad that our system is so weak & equally disgusting. To add to this Nonsense the staff in the Passport Department do not have any manners to talk with general public, they need to be reminded that their salarys are paid from the taxes of general public. Finally i will just hope that i come across one sensable person who can guide me about the exactly procedure, although this seems impossible, but i can just HOPE...
