[Resolved]  Satyam Cinemas - Chennai — Not allowing my baby foods inside the premises....

I booked my tickets online for the movie Avatar, Five days before to watch the movie comfortably with my family by paying extra money for selecting my convinenient seats, also for booking tickets online with my 1.5 years old son and 3 years old daughter. Iam regular customer to satyam cinemas for the the past 15 years. I know what food items will be available there, which is not suitable for my kids. So, to watch the movie peacefully, i bought some snacks and drinks, which my kid like the most i.e my 1.5 yrs and 3 yrs old son and daughter. One man who is working as a floor manager (N. Rajagopalan) who spoiled all my plans inspite of all arrangements. He said he can't allow outside food as per our rule. Also he asked us to come back to the ground floor whenever my kid cries for it. Also feed them outside the premises if needed, not inside. We tried to explain him our kids won't stick to the snack what u allow. They would like to try different items at a time. While we the parents can manage to watch the movie peacefully by offerring different items whenever they cry for it. FYI, what all the menu items available in the canteen is Veg Puff, Veg sandwitch, Hotdog, Vanilla muffin, Popcorn, Coke drink. Nothing is suitable for my kid. Finally he didn't allow us to take any stuff. We ended up watching around 7 'o clock (movie time 6.30 pm) after arguing with him for 30 minutes. After 25 mintues my younger one started crying. we tried to get some of our stuff from the manager in the ground floor, he told us to bring the kid down and asked us to go outside the premises and feed them and comeback again to watch the movie. we told them my kid is a slow eater. By the time he finishes, the movie will be over. But he simply sticked on to what he says from the begining. Finally he didn't allow any stuff for my kids. As it is practically not possible each and every time to go to the ground floor from the second floor to collect the stuff and feed them outside and comeback and watch the movie. Instead i can sit at home peacefully. Not only us, the people who came to watch the movies around us also got disturbed just because o[censored]s. We are helpless...

Hi - I do not see when you raised this complaint. This being an Indian website would not have history or date for their news content.Anyway's have you got any response. Please post this on face book, twitter etc. Cinema is an hospitality and entertainment industry. Legally they are not permitted to prevent foods for babies/old people. Producers invest millions in creating a movie and distributors give it to theaters and theater owners already make profits by selling tickets, why the hell should they convert it into a hotel. In the name of theaters these guys are actually making it an unlicensed hotel too. But what is worse, Indian canteens (@ cinema theaters) do not contain any healthy snack at all. No fruit bowls, snack-vegetables like cucumber/carrots, fruits available for snacking unlike in western countries. Here only oily and adulterated foods are sold. I hope the union ministry ban these unhealthy foods in the theaters or at least prevent these from enforcing them for short-changed/gullible Indian citizens. These enforcement is also illegal and done to benefit certain cartels that provide food (junk) at these places. I had seen many parents and even my friends arguing that it is important to take certain foods inside. These theaters encourage piracy indirectly and do not care about the profits of the movies but for the pockets of some cafeteria cartels.
