[Resolved]  SBI - Credit Card — Harrasement from Credit Card Recovery Team

Hi,

I had SBI credit card 2 years back and i have close the card and received the SBI Manager official letter regarding the clearance of all the dues. But from that day on wards every month I receive phone calls from the recovery team from (Phone No.[protected] and asks me to make the due payment. I am really getting harrased by this team, even after my communication that I have letter - they dont hear and asks me to make the payment.

Will some one or some forum can help me on this?

As I had been using the SBI credit card no [protected] during my posting in Delhi. I left Delhi on 6th Jul'06 by joining another company in Madhya Pradesh. During the Jul'06 month I got a call from SBI customer care for outstanding so I told them that I am out of station and won't be able to go to bank and requested him / her to send someone to my residence to collect the money, at the same time asked my wife to pay the outstanding balance to collection executive. And finally we left Delhi on 13 Aug'06 by shifting my family to M.P. For another more than 18 months I have not received any reminder from SBI Credit card division neither on my address nor on my mail id except some e-statements infact we have not used the card and discard the cards.

Suddenly someone called up on my land-line (Gwalior one) and asked for outstanding and we were shocked to listen that and discussed the matter and informed about the same.

Again there was no communication made by them and kept sending the e-statements which we were not able to see because we did not have the card to see.


Then I have sent a mail to head SBI cards and made many communications with AVP to clear my part. The details of mails are hereby given below.

The same matter has been sent to Ombudsman on 25 Dec'09 for help. The other details are hereby given below.

Kindly look into the matter and do the needful for me.

Dear Sir,

Refer to my below mentioned mail I would like to draw your kind attention that since last two days I have been getting calls from Karan (Delhi) and literally he has pressurized me to settle the account by paying 19000/- Rs in his words either have to pay 19000/- Rs or he will send someone and the fellow will collect 1.0 Lac from me by all means. When I asked him that give me two – three days to see the reply of Authority’s he says that I have to pay it by tomorrow only either by money transfer to Cheque as he is having closing on 31st Dec’09 so he need money prior to that, we have a doubt that whether he is a Bank employee or some DSA? During interaction when I told him that I have already sent the issue to Ombudsman (RBI) he straight away said it that no one can help me on this or no can settle the account, the better way is I have to pay the money.

Me and my family is in tremendous pressure and ready to pay the said money and as per our version there was no outstanding on our side. Kindly look into the matter and help us from harassments.

Now since last two days I have been receiving calls from Delhi some SBI Card manager Mr Karan is calling as he discussed the matter well on 24 Dec’09 and ask me to settle the account on 23900 Rs when I asked him to see the earlier mails and told him that I am fed up now by getting calls from different guys as I am interested to know the details and under pressure ready to settle the account but only will pay the rationalized money.

But today when he called up and discussed he had given a figure of 19000 – 20000 Rs as last when I showed some difficulty in the same than suddenly he raised his volume and started asking my address and said it that now you have to pay the full amount that is in lacs and shown some threats by saying some person / or he himself will meet me and collect the same amount.

I AM HAVING THE RECORDING OF BOTH AUDIO CONVERSATIONS IF REQUIRED WILL SUBMIT THE SAME ALSO.

As my bank manager suggested me that you can help me out on this matter Now I request you to pl look into the matter and help me on the same.
