[Resolved] SBI Foreign Travel Card — Excess Transaction fee

Dear Sir/Madam, Today using my SBI Foreign Travel card, I withdrawn money( 500 pound sterling) from Nattwest ATM, Cranfield, England at 12: 30pm local time in England. For this transaction am amount(865.71US Dollar is deducted from my account). But as per RBI rate it should be 815.58 US Dollar( On 22/10/2008 1US Dollar = 49.29 INR and 1GB Pound Sterling= 80.40INR) and transaction charge of 1.75US dollar( as per SBI guide lines). To my surprise, I loose around 48 dollrs in one transaction. Can you clarify my doubts over transaction. Regards Was this information helpful? No (0) Yes (0)

SBI Foreign Travel Card — Excess deduction

I made a purchase of Singapore dollar 39.06 today eith mu SBI Foreign Travel Card. When I checked my account, I found that a transaction of 39.06 Singapore dollar was correctly shown. However US Dollar 34.45 was debited from my account. At exchange rate of 0.72 US dollar for a Singapore dollar, the amount debited should have been about US dollar 28. Two years back I had used the same card in USA, but there was never a discrepancy.

Can someone explain how the amount debited is computed. It seems the Foreign Travel Card is very expensive for countries other than USA.
