[Resolved]  SBIcard — lapsing of reward points without information

I am a sbi credit card customer and i have earned more and more reward points with my purchases made out of hard earned money. To my surprise nearly 3000 reward points were reduced from my total reward points without any prior intimation either phonic or through monthly statements. But in jan'09 statement it is clearly stated that points earned and not utilised before 24 months will be lapsed. As on jan'09 nearly 3000 points were lapsed. Intimating the fact after deducting the points is not just and fair. It should be informed in advance as and when the situation arises. No where it is mentioned in the terms and conditions supplied to me and it was not mentioned in any statement except jan'09, from which statement only i came to know the details. had it been informed to me as and when it happens i would have utilised the points. There i request to kindly consider my request and see that the lapsed points upto jan'09 statement may please be added since i have saved the points with lot of purchases made with hard earned money. thanq

It is true, I have not till date encashed any reward pointsand was hoping t o accumulate some more points and get a good item from these earned points for last so many years, to my surprise in the month of jan 2009 some more than 6000 points have been deducted from my earned points without any information and I feel highly cheated, I request the authorities to restore my last lapsed points thus enabling us to encash the points and have noted for future to encash the points withen two years. However I want to know the reasons why the points will lapse after two years, when it is purely my savings and not a liability to SBI cards.I once request the SBI cards authority to restore my points thus allowing me to have them encashed.

my opinion regarding the lapse of reward point after 24 months is unfair. The card holder should be allowed to redeem any time that he wishes.
ONE HAS TO USE THE CARD EXTENSIVELY TO ACCUMULATE THE REWARD POINTS.
AFTER EARNING THE POINTS IF WE LEARN THAT THE POINTS ARE LAPSED ONE FEELS VERY MUCH.

AS AN INCENTIVE THE CARD AUTHORITIES MAY CONSIDER REINSTATING THE LAPSED POINTS TO WIN THE CONFIDENCE OF THE CUSTOMER, WHICH WILL REINFORCE THE RELATIONSHIP AND RESULT IN MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL RELATION SHIP.

IN A SIMILAR CASE I HAD A REGRETABLE EXPERIENCE. I SENT A RS. 250/- REWARDS POINTS WILLS COUPON FOR REVALIDATION. IT IS SURPRISING THAT EVEN THE HEAD CARDS DEPT DO NOT HAVE THE DISCRETION TO REVALIDATE THE COUPON FOR RS. 250/-

HENCE WHERE IS THE QUESTION OF REINSTATION 6000 POINTS !!!
i too lost 2000 points and my complaint is the same. even after calling sbi it was useless. now a days with ge as mediator the link between the customer and the bank is lost.
Dear sir,
Your card is doing a wonderful service to me in the times of emergency and is an instrument of reducing tensions.
Till now I have never redeemed my reward points and just yesterday I came to know from my latest statement (June '09) that you've redeemed my account with 65 points which I never did. So please verify my account and adjust my points accordingly.
Thanding you sir,
yours faithfully, VARMA
Dear Sir,

I fully agree that, regarding the lapse of reward point after 24 months is unfair. The card holder should be allowed to redeem any time that he wishes.

Credit card statement was not sent to me and I am informed about my reward point lapsed. I talked to the sbi card executive on phone and he informed that he has sent the request for the reversa, 10 days back. I have not received any communication from sbi card so far.
I am a sbi credit card customer and i have earned more and more reward points with my purchases made out of hard earned money. To my surprise nearly 301 reward points were reduced from my total reward points without any prior intimation either phonic or through monthly statements. But in Apr'09 statement it is clearly stated that points earned and not utilised before 6 months will be lapsed. As on sept '09 nearly 1930 points were lapsed. Intimating the fact after deducting the points is not just and fair. It should be informed in advance as and when the situation arises. No where it is mentioned in the terms and conditions supplied to me and it was not mentioned in any statement except sept '09, from which statement only i came to know the details. had it been informed to me as and when it happens i would have utilised the points. I am a card holder since long time & had never redeemed my reward points. Many times my reward points were lapsed due to lack of proper information. There is no proper guideline how to utilise reward points & what are the items can be booked against reward points and their point value. Pl. reply me with the items so that I can book. Regards ... A K Samaddar
