Hai,

We are residing at No 30A, karumari Nagar, Madanandapuram, Porur, Chennai 116. In our area we are getting low voltage and power fluctuation last 15 days. It is causing huge damage of electrical & electronics equipments. Request you to do the needfull

There is also a power fluctuation in Ganesh nagar, keelkatalai -600117 from May12th till date(may-19) daily atleast 5 times a day.Even before we had this but not too often.But now its getting too worse.

We were not able to sleep properly due to power fluctuation at night .This happens every 1-2 hours.

But it seems that TNEB has denied this and said there is no complaint on this.Most of them may not know where to complaint on this.If they could provide the contact number and the person of contact in any magazine it would be helpful for the public to reach them immediatly.
Its causing huge damage to our electrical and electronics equipments.
It would be great helpful for us if this would be addressed ASAP .
I am a resident of Karthikeyapuram, Madipakkam. For months together, we have very bad power fluctuation and voltage drops here. When my electrician checked in the afternoon he said it was 160 volts only. Our AC is not working at that voltage. Hence he advised to put a Double Boost stabilizer, which he said will work even upto 140 volts (costs around Rs.4000). I did that. Even after that during nights, the Double Boost doesn't work after 8.30 - 9.00 pm (It seems voltage drops even below 140 volts !). One more bigger problem is my Computer UPS is not at all getting charged due to low voltage. Whenever I switch on the computer, it stands only for 5 minutes and immediately when there is a fluctuation, the UPS dies and the computer switches off abruptly without properly shutting down. I am afraid I will loose my good equipment like computer, AC, heater, TV etc. It is not only for me but for all the residents of Karthikeyapuram, Madipakkam. If such equipment wears out, it will be a calamity for many residents. Thus, hard earned money will be lost due to power shortage and voltage drops. Request TNEB to take necessary steps IMMEDIATELY to stop voltage fluctuation and power cuts. Regards / Bharathkumar

    RESPECTED SIR, AS I AM RESIDING IN PLOT NO 1 SANKARAPURAM 2ND STREET PALAVAKKAM, CHENNAI-600041, AS THE POWER WAS NOT THERE FROM SATURDAY (16/04/2011) I REGESTER MY COMPLAIN WENT TO THE EB OFFICE IT WAS SHOCKING THE DAY SHIFT LINE MEN WAS CONSUMING ALCHOL INSIDE THE OFFICE AND THE PLACE SEEMS TO BE NOT ORGANIZED AFTER 2 DAYS (AFTER CALLING SEVERAL TIMES TO THIRUVANMAYUR A E )THEY CAME ON SUNDAY 17/04/2011FOUND ITS A CABLE FAULT AND INFORMED ME DUE TO SUNDAY THE LINE MEN IS ON LEAVE, IF YOU BUY THE ELECTRIC WIRE WE CAN GIVE A DIRECT TEMPROARY CONNECTION FROM THE MAIN BOX I BROUGHT THE ELECTRIC WIRS COSTING RS1400 AND THEY TOLD VERY NEXT DAY THEY WILL CONNECT THE CABLE, AND LEFT,

      I am residing in Puzhuthivakkam Municipality. My home comes under the Madipakkam TNEB control. When They have seperated the Puzhuthivakkam Connections from Madipakkam area my service number changed. But my area still retained under Madipakkam Service Area.

      1. First of all they come to my area for reading as they wish, they have taken reading for my house only three times in last one year.
      2. Even If they take the reading for my house, since my connection number belongs to a different service area they don't enter the reading.
      3. When ever I go for the payment, They ask me to stand in a different queue to get the reading updated in their system and then on another queue for payment. The Staff Madipakkam TNEB bill payment section literally behaving rude. Simply they are saying if you want to complain go and complain to any one, even to the Chief Minister, We don't bother.

      I have given a request for correcting the Service number almost 6 months back, still it is not corrected. I have met AE & the Billing Supervisor of Madipakkam section every time I went for payment and requested him to take appropriate. Both are giving commintment that it will be corrected in next cycle. But almost 3 Cycles over no action yet. This month also they have not taken reading.

      I am not sure how to solve the issue. Any on who know the proper channel to escalate the issue, please let me know.

      How to make these people to work for Public !!!

      Reading Not taken for long time

      I am Harry Joseph from No:55, tulakathammen street, brindhavan nagar, surapet, Chennai-66. near puzhal lake, in this area E.B Reading person not coming for 5 times and still.. so they are billing at my card same money, same, same.. then i call the number 15533..they are taking the phone and silently keept down several times doing same thing, not responding at all .. please take action and correct the problem..

        We have frequent voltage fluctuation in Annanagar Y block, 5th street.
        Regular fluctuation after 9.30 p.m for the last one week.
        Daily I am calling up the respective AE of this area to rectify it.
        He promises that problem will not persist from the next day but in vain.
        I am scared let my household electrical things may damage. Kindly take some stern action against this negligence.

          INSISTING TO APPLY FOR TARIFF CHANGE

          Hi,
          I am an NRI owning a home in my native place called Kottaiyur in Tamilnadu. It was constructed 8 years back and recently I decided to renovate the same to improve the elevation. Even after partial hacking the house is fit for living and my cousin continues to live there.

          Note, I am not doing demolition of old house and constructing a new house.

          It is a two story house having two electrical supply...

          I stay in Bakthavatsalam colony, vadapalani, chennai 26. There is a Electricity box (cable termination box) in front of our gate and there are big black live cables lying around the box like a cobweb. There are frequent short circuits of the underground cable just in front of our house. This happens with a loud cracker like noise and a big fire. Yesterday, all of a sudden we heard a noise and there was a big fire in front of our house. all the while kids were playing near the gate, thank god this happend a little later. Immediately the power went off. when the TNEB persons came for the repair, we asked them about the remedy, they say that it is definitely a risk and it can happen antime again. We feel very insecure even to come out of our house...and need a solution. pls help...

          I stay in veeravanchinathan street, perungudi, Chennai.In our street we are getting a low voltage problem.We cant used any kind of electrical things.we complained to TNEB but still they didnt solve this problem.We dont know when they are going to solve.
          good morning sir !! am staying in kannadasan street in rangarajapuram area . we are suffering from cut from past 10 day sthough v complaint to the EB department they are ignoring and neglecting the requests . we took temporary line from the neighbour house directly. i request u take the correct action for the above sufferings cos v have old age ppl in ma home !! so i request u to do dat as soon as possible sir !!! thank u :)

            Respected sir,

            We people who are living in choolaimedu, abdullah street are extremely fed up with the very low voltage power supply in our area. We have complained several times even directly to the A.E, but there is no response. Actually a transformer was sanctioned in our area about six months ago, but still there is no sign of it. The higher officials in TNEB have collected bribe fro the mansion owners in abdullah street and hence are not caring about our problem. The transformer was sanctioned to be built near the mansion, but the mansion owners somehow bribed the TNEB officials, and avoided the transformer set up. Some mansions in our street have illegally built up an extra floor or two. Moreover there is a reliance fresh supermarket in our area which absorbs heavy load of current. So we people who live in abdullah street choolaimedu are requesting you to take the necessary steps required, so that we people can get a normal current supply.

            I am residing at bharathi nagar thirumullaivoyal chennai 600062 for the past 5 years but during in summer period ie. from april to june we are facing low voltage problems, during night time it goes beyond 180v, in the night time we could not able use even fans, till now the problem was not yet rectified.most of the nights we are sleepeing in the open space with our childerns with great risk. kindly arrange to solve the voltage drop problem at the earlist.

            We people who are living in ambattur, pudhur, banunagar4th avenue are extremely fed up with the very low voltage power supply in our area. We have complained several times even directly to the A.E, but there is no response. daily three four times total power cut is also during in our 4th avenue only, in some individual houses daily two or three times blown any one fuse in our own mains.so please take the necessary steps required, so that we people can get a normal current supply.

            yes, i am also residence at nanganallur we are also facing same problem but small correction, after 9 pm our tube light, TV and Refrigerator also automatically switch off even though we have stabiler, already complaint about our area AE he simply said we check and correct it but till no action taken, please Superior officer take necessary action regarding this

            This is the second time i`m giving the same complaint.
            I`m living in venkatachala Achari street, Pudupet, chennai-600002.
            There is a frequent voltage drop in my street due to the welding shop in in my street.I gave my first complaint a month back still there seems to be no response.The cable provided to our street where low tension cables and they are unable to handle such high welding power supply.They finally end up in fuse cut.

            Moreover i`ve heard from some people that those power supply used for welding is illegal usage.

            And this is my final complaint if nessary action is not taken, i will write letter to highest authority in TNEB.

            Transformer required at our Area — LOW VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY

            We people who are living in Galivari Kandigai, Arakkonam, Vellore District.are extremely fed up with the very low voltage power supply in our area. We have complained several times even directly to the A.E, but there is no response. Actually a transformer was sanctioned in our area about six months ago, but still there is no sign of it.             SERVICE CONNECTION FAILED

            EVEN SINGLE PHASE LOAD IS NOT RUNNING IN 3 PHASE SUPPLY
            I have registered for the online payment option in TNEB website and paid last term bill thro' online.
            I have problem of online payment option disabled this time. First I thought it will be enabled in two or three days. As I have only Saturday off I missed first Saturday expecting the problem will be sorted out. The site also is not having any customer care numbers to take this kind of problems. The second Saturday will be off and third saturday is Independence day. So I have to take leave to pay my EB bill. kindly arrange to solve the problem at the earlist

            Single phase not working

            I am P.Muthusamy residing at New no.18, Old no.12, 2nd Main Road, SVS Nagar, Valasaravakkam, Chennai – 600 087. We have three phase connection at our house. Single phase is not working. Currently we are having two phases. We have given complaint two weeks ago to correct the issue. They are not at all responding. Kindly do the needful.

              frequent Power Cut-no proper decision

              In Mootakaranchavadi, near PTC quarters & Thoraipakkam there is frequen powercut in the night. During 10 & +12 exams also there is the same problem. Now it is summer. How people can live without power supply especially in nights. I have registered a complaint to the CM seperate cell. I want to know why the concern people are not repairing permanently . There are just repairing only for the suitation. This is wrong . Why there are...

              Dear Sir,

              I have launched two complaints online as in our area we have serious low voltage problem.

              no response received till now and kindly look into it please and mentally we are upset.

              Low voltage problem is very bad during peak hours 9PM to 11:30pm in the night.

              We are unable to use even tube lights during that time - voltage is less than 200 volts.

              complaint numbers: TNEB_693 and TNEB_692

              Complete Buddar Street, Part of Gandi street, Kulothungan street and Kulothungan cross street these problem of low voltage is there due transformer issue and every year same answer is coming from local EB office without any solution.

                procedure for reconnection after 2yrs

                Hi,

                Due to personal reasons, I was unable to pay my electricity charges for 2yrs (the house was locked too for 2yrs). As per procedure, my connection was disconnected. Now, I'm want my connection back. When we went to submit the appl for reconnection, they said that we need to pay a sum of Rs.35000/- as they can't give us the connection back, and only new connection can be given. How far is this true ? Has anybody...

                PAYMENT DEBITED TWICE FROM MY ACCOUNT BUT NO REFUND

                I am from maraimalainagar, I have paid my EB bill through online using AXIS bank netbanking on 01-november-2008. There was problem in e- receipt genearation.I have made payment once again. then the amount(Rs.1822) has been debited twice from my account . Still i didn't get refund of amount 1822...

                i apply for new connection at the time of deposit new rule has arrived as per new rule consumer has to bear all the expenses for poll, line, meter. as per rule i have paid as per sanction but after a month they have again the tneb applied the same rule as it was earlier it this rule consumer need not to pay the amount for poll, line. and meter please advice us what to do i have given writen complaint s to get refund but the dont care for may case

                  The Tamilnadu Electricity Board has found a new method of looting people.The power factor way.If your consumption is below the quota they fine you miserably.It means that if you do not use the quantity of power supplied you will be fines.On the other hand the electricity board is cutting power for 8 hours everyday.How is one supposed to utilise full power if they are not supplied with it.I request people not to come to Tamilnadu and start any industry .You will be looted.The people of the board are thugs and most of them ask for bribes upto Rs.50000/- wonly aaa

                    During Jul'08, I had been to the E.B office of Chitlappakkam, Chennai -64 to make the payment of the current month's electricity bill. When I went there, the officials said that the Meter Readings were not updated in their Databases. Hence, they asked me to handover the EB Reading Card and the Money (INR 472) so that they can credit into my account as the last date of payment was nearing. I did the same and I approached the EB office ore than thrice to collect my EB Reading Card. But, the person to whom I had handed over the Card and the Money wasn't there all the time. So, collected a fresh Reading Card from them and came back.

                    3 months later, the person to whom I had handed over the money visited my house and said that there is a due of INR 472. I refused to give him the money as I had already handed over the money some time earlier. This time, when I had been to the EB office for November Bill payment, the same person said that he paid the due of INR 472 on my behalf just keep me off from the Penalty. But, I refused to give him money again.

                    I have a question to the Tamilnadu Electricity Board. "Have you employed such persons who can make the payment from their pockets when the public (Common Man) has not paide the bill on date?"

                    Dear Sir,
                    It’s really sad for me to making this complaint on our own EB. It’s because of pure Negligence of EB Officials.
                    For the past 6 months we are facing this problem. We were remitting EB payment in Ullagaram branch. Till last month we remitted the payment in Ullagaram Branch. Whenever we remit the payment at least 2 to 3 times I have to go to both madipakkam and Ullagaram branches to clarify where I have to pay the bill. Madipakkam EB employee was telling that I need renumbering for my service number which has to be provided by Ullagaram Branch. When I enquire in Ullagaram branch they are blaming madipakkam AE. We spoke to both the branch Assistant Engineer’s and they simply blaming each other and I have to go back and forth for the both the branches. At last as consumer we are the victim and facing the problem. Please help me sir. All I want is where I can remit the payment? And what is the renumber for my consumer number?. This month both the branches denied to accept the payment.

                      eb bill not updated

                      we are residing in PALLIKARANAI CHENNAI-600 100.
                      when we approached the EB office at MEDAVAKAM to pay the electricity bill, they are not accepting it. The reason given by them is that the bill is not updated in the computer. To update the bill we had to stand for more than 4 hours in the queue, even then they did not updated the bill. Hence we are unable to pay the bill even today 10-DEC-2008.

                      We are residants of Lambert Nagar, Virugumbakkam, Chennai -92. There is no power supply since 7 PM yeseterday night till now.
                      This has affected our daily routines such as now water supply, etc. and the roads are logged fully with water and without light it is very difficult to commute by vehicle and by walk in this area.

                      We now the current situation. Please switch ON the power supply for 2-3 hours today, so that, atleast we pump in some water for our use, which is a basic necessity.

                      We have the experience to share with you. We have the 3 phase power supply but we could not use due to phase reversal problem. Today morning 3.30am to till now same problem. We had informed foremen, AE, substation operators and AD -MMDA colony, Aminjikarai. Till we are running the Dg sets-180kva-1no, 500kva-2nos, 380kva-1no. Why they will not rectify we don't know really.

                      This problem not only today, the same problem we have faced on 14.08.2009 at 6.10 hrs to 9.30 hrs., 16.08.2009 at 7.30 hrs to 7.50 hrs and 24.08.2009 at 8.10 hrs to 10.10 hrs.

                      We made the complaint to 155333 also and we received the complaint no .3071536 also but nothing to happen.

                        I am A.Ganesh Kumar residing at 2/10A, 7th Street, Kanniamman nagar, Vanagaram, Chennai-600095. For the past 6 months, the EB meter reading (of some other person meter) is being entered wrongly into the server.
                        When I go for payment of the EB bill, the person in the counter claims that the reading in the card and the server is not matching and I need to pay the previous months amount. This issue has been brought to the notice of the EB department in Madhuravoil and the same mistake is happening repeatedly.

                        I am from maraimalainagar, I have paid my EB bill through online using AXIS bank netbanking on 01-november-2008. There was problem in e- receipt genearation.I have made payment once again. then the amount(Rs.1822) has been debited twice from my account . Still i didn't get refund of amount 1822
                        We are residents of John Vasu Street, Extension, Madhavaram Milk Colony.
                        The overhead lines are loose, and the power lines leading to our house are overgrown by plants and intertwined with ceepers and are in a precarious position.The power supply is inconsistent with severe fluctuations and we are forced to switch off the AC, TV and the fridge. We have a lodged a complaint with the AE, Manali region and there is no action as yet.
                        Dear Sir, I am from 8/3, panchanathan st, Tindivanam. I was given a EB bill for a meter reading that which our meter has not yet reached the reading entered by the accessor. The reading has been entered in my card at the time of payment of the bill since I am no at my home at the time of accessment.                           Dear Sir/Madam,
                          Sub: - Bad and irresponsible service given to customer.
                          I have been living in the above address for the past 1 year and found that not once the electricity department was responsible enough to solve or notice the issue that our apartment was facing.
                          There are four meters for each apartment and a common meter for the water pumping motor. As soon as I started living in the apartment I noticed that our meter and the common water pump meter was not working and raised a complaint to change them to new one. I waited for more than 3 months ad still didn’t get any proper response from the EB department. They were passing time by either stating that my complaint is still in process or the meter will be changed next week. But then that week never came. Giving the EB department another chance I wrote another complaint to change the meter and after 2 months they changed the meter and it was only for my individual house and not for the common water pump meter. When I asked about it the EB department started to beat around the bushes by not giving proper reply and instead they were passing it to other person. Added to that the person who comes to take the reading doesn’t care to guide us what to do to resolve this issue instead he says us to pay minimum of Rs.600/= for the common water pump motor. I’m sure that it doesn’t cost that much since only three o[censored]s live in the apartment and we turn ON the motor only twice a day for 1 hour.
                          Later they changed the meter for the common water pump. But that meter was also not working and when we tried to explain it to the department and the person who notes the meter reading he says to raise another complaint to change the meter and asks to pay Rs.600/= again.
                          This is the mistake repeatedly done from the EB department and they are supposed to rectify it, but I’m paying the cost for their mistakes. I’m really unhappy with the irresponsible act of the people working in the department and not even bothering at least to guide the public if they are in need of any guidance.
                          I’m writing this complaint not only it happened to me but also to most of the neighbors in my locality and I’m not afraid to say that the neighbors doesn’t complain this issue because the EB department in out locality doesn’t work efficiently or promptly if any complaints are raised against them.
                          Please consider this as not only my complaint but also a humble request to look into this issue that’s happening in our locality.

                          i have faced a ridiculus problem from TNEB Tambaram Near Madras Christian College

                          sir for month of october i paid Rs 1724 Rs i was satisfied because i have used AC.

                          For 40 Days.

                          i have sent my brother who is uneducated and the TNEB Collected Same Amount

                          Rs 1724/- but i have given only rs 1100 and rest of money he manged from his own funds because we have not used AC not even

                          a single day.

                          They simply collected amount from my Brother Same Amount and informed him if

                          you are not using A/C you have to inform us earlier.

                          What a ridiculuos approach whether this is needed that i have to inform everything

                          what iam using ??? then why they have meter reading ??? its all depends on

                          consumption.

                          They not even furnished the meter reading in EB Card just a single Line .Plz kindly take some actions.

                          i have all the evidences and iam not going hand over card to them.

                          when we accepted to pay bribary they responded good.but when we refuse to pay bribary, their response was very bad.very ridiculous service.

                          Careless responses.my mother went around 3times.Each time they are telling colorful reasons.

                          when we accepted to pay bribary 5000rs they do'nt want any supportive or extra documents itseems.but when we said we can pay 3500rs .they nodded head for bribary.when we refused to pay bribary.they are not even getting our bills in hand.very very bad..when we will get this done ..god only knows.We are suffering very badly with single phase connection.getting often powercuts.

                          Yes I agree. Civil Supplies department is doing great job for consumer complaints. Likewise TNEB should also make such online arrangements to make sure they receive all consumer complaints in a proper way and getting escalated to higher official if the complaints are not resolved.

                            The meter provided at our rented-residence, is not working for the past 9 months.I have given written complaints 9 months ago.

                            And every 2 months, a TNEB lady writes down the average meter reading.

                            Last month end 28th Aug08' I was very much fed up and went to the TNEB office in Ambattur. Only then I came to know about a complaint notebook, and I made a entry. And I was informed a telephone no. and contact person for the complaint..also stating that I will get the issue solved within a day & ask me to call them if nobody showed up.

                            It was 4 pm, next day and still no one...so I made a call and asked for the person(as stated above)..

                            There was a harsh response...

                            You made the complaint yesterday only, wait for some more time...


                            And today is 15th sep, still no response..

                            What should I do...now.
