[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Facts about Tata Sky

Please find below the letter written by me to Tata Sky Customer Care.

Hi TataSky,

Let first let me share with you some hard facts.

DishTV subscriber base is 2.1 million versus Tata Sky subscriber base of 0.7 million. DishTV offers 170 channels (and increasing) versus Tata Sky 100 channels (and decreasing). Both charge same price Rs. 300.

I am subscriber of Tata Sky for over 5 months. I want to give you certain feedback regarding the service of Tata Sky experienced by me and several others :

1. Total number of channels continues to be woefully short of expectations. Infact Tata Sky is very choosy and more interested in removing certain channels. Many easily available channels like Zee Bouquet, B4U, Zoom, SUN Network etc. are not present in Tata Sky. You promised 150 channels & delivered only 100 channels ??

2. The packaging of channels is nothing more than a joke. There is simply no categorization of channels and the viewers will have a tough time choosing the right package. A better packaging in terms of Movie, Music, Sports, Regional etc. was expected.

3. Channels like Movie Central, Audio Channels are still not available. No niche channels for Tata Sky subscribers. No sense in paying premium for watching the same cable channels with ads.

4. No signals during rains. This fact should be clearly made known to the people before buying. Instead of spending money in useless advt., try educating people about your products & services in true earnest.

Because of the reasons above and others, people are shifting to DishTV. I too see no reason why I should stick to Tata Sky. Ultimately I will end up paying more for less in Tata Sky. I hope you got the point. THANKS.

i Do agree about the very poor service quality and over charges and very limited choice of channels. They are pathetic and work without any responsible team leader / Manager who can teach/ trained them what is a customer care, how to relate the problems with concern person .And it all happens because they have out sourced the call center, Field worker, customer care team.
Tata Sky is a racist company have stopped relaying ETC PUNJABI Channel which carries LIVE GURBANI from Golden Temple, Amritsar for 6 hrs daily
I agree with you, Tata sky is worst in their regional service... whereas see dish tv they done a great job by providing max numbers of regional channels for all regions and regional viewers... they care about customers feeling and their need...
100% agree and will support you because i also faced same problem... I request all tata sky subscribers to come together and ask for refund.
i beg to differ with ur points
more no.of customer base with Dish is just coz they're a lil older .. tht does not explain anything bout the service quality.. in fact i[censored] read reviews on Dish and Tata online.. m sure u;ll change u're mind about Dish quality..
Secondly, tata has added several new channels recently and they have provided with all the channels tht are popular with the mass.. and their packaging is quite flexible in fact.. m glad tht i dont have to pay for any sport channels since i watch none.. what surprises me is tht while buying the package u're are totally aware of the channels and the pricing than why crib later..
I have been using tata sky and have been satisfied with the quality of product and their service..
