I express my deep dismay and anguist over the malpractice and customer harrassment at Vishal Mega Mart Centre at Haridwar. I was not only financially deceived but also made to suffer harrassment when I tried to bring the complaint in the knowledge of the staff including manager at the haridwar centre. In the same connection I wish to bring the entire incident to your knowledge before I take another course of action to claim for compensation for mental and financial harassment.
1. I made some purchased vide bill no[protected] dated 26.10.2008 from your haridwar outlet and some of the items I purchased were on discount. I made a cash payment of Rs.2828/- at counter number01 and collected my purchased items. When I checked the items from the Bill I was surprised to note that item no code[protected]carpet which was on 50% discount was charged at 100% i.e without giving any discount. It was billed for Rs.1099/- instead of 549.50/-.
2. On the very next day when I approached the salesman at the centre I was told that the item which I bought was without any discount and refused to admit their mistake. I insisted that the counter from where I purchased the carpet had a big display of 50%. Moreover, before purchase I had confirmed the same from the salesman attending the same counter. After that I was made to run from one counter to another counter for more than 20 minutes. Even the manager at the centre did not bother to attend to me personally. Later on, after verifying the rates they admitted that they somehow did not give me the 50% which ought to have been given to me.
3. It was again very shocking to know when I was told that the difference will not be given back to me cash and for the difference I will have to buy some articles from the centre.
4. Besides, I made another purchase vide bill no [protected] dated 27.10.2008 from counter no 03. And it was noticed that on item no[protected]Double Bed Sheet I was given a dicount of 39%. Whereas on purchase of same item vide bill no [protected] dated 26.10.2008 the dicount is 31%.
The same was also brought to the knowledge of the area manager at phone no[protected], but till date I have not received any response.
In view of the above points It is very clear that there have been lot of malpractices at the Haridwar Outlet and Vishal Mega Mart which claims to be a big brand is simply an eye wash. I have sufficient reasons to prove that it is a centre where lot of manipulations are being designed to cheat and harass the customer. While bringing this to your knowledge I claim a compensation of 150000/- along with may genuine refund with interest for the mental and financial harassement. In case I do'nt receive your response within 10 days from the receipt of this mail, I am free to move to the television media and local and national newspaper and seek the help of consumer forum.
