I Sri. Amit Kundu wants to inform you that my mother Mrs Kabita Kundu (60 yrs), a resident of C.R. Road Kamar Para, Natagarh, Sodepur. Kol – 700113, had been operated for Cataract Surgery for her left eye (right eye already have no vision) at Disha Eyecare under the observation of Dr. T. K. Sinha. On 20/12/2019 she was admitted for Cataract Surgery (with lense placement) & after operation, doctor confirmed that operation was successful & prescribed 21 days complete bedrest. After 21 days when doctor conducted regular check-up, they prescribed power glasses of +3.25 & affirmed that slowly & gradually vision will be restored, but unfortunately my mother realised that what she can see feels everything dark & hazzy. Again after reporting the same to Dr. T. K. Sinha, Doctor advised another (2nd) surgery which was done on 03/02/2020 & again she was prescribed 15 days bedrest post-surgery. After 15 days of the 2nd surgery, Doctor did a regular check-up & prescribed power glasses of +12.
And at this point a huge confusion and suspicion arose within us, as after 1st surgery her glasses were prescribed +3.25 and after the 2nd surgery her glasses became +12. Moreover, the vision was also not clear. On account of this suspect we had taken her to Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata for an alternate check-up & opinion. After a thorough checkup accompanied with USG (eye) at Sankara Nethralaya by Dr. Kumar Saurav, a shocking fact emerged. Dr. Kumar Saurav informed us that the lens which was supposed to be on her eye was not there and the reason behind this is unknown to us. After a thorough discussion with Dr. Kumar Saurav we understood the possibility that may be due to negligence during 2nd surgery or unethical business intention of Disha Eyecare, the same had happened.
Sir, we belong to lower middle class society where we are having limited sources of income and multiple dependents. We had already spent almost Rs. 50000 for this treatment in last 2 months. My mother whose one eye was the only hope, that also is on the edge of impairment.
However, after all this we lost all hope for her treatment keeping her at Kolkata and somehow by managing financial aspects we are now planning to take her to Chennai Sankar Netralaya for a better treatment.
Thanking you in anticipation. Was this information helpful? |
