I had bought Faber Gas Stove 4 Burner Power 4BB Bk Black (Serial No.S[protected] on 12th April 2021 in Viveks Mylapore, Chennai. Recently we noticed a crack in the Glass top and while using the stove, the crack in the glass top began to increase. The glass top became brittle and small pieces of glass began drop. When we checked with Viveks, they had asked me to contact Faber customer care. So we have booked a service appointment to fix the issue with Faber. The Engineer came on January 19 and told that there has been a leak in the gas stove that has caused this break and asked for Rs.2500 to replace the Glass top.
I had paid an amount Rs.4, 190 for the Glass stove and within 2 years I'm being asked to pay another Rs.2500. I believe the glass that is in the stove should have undergone the Quality Control and test to bear the heat from the burner and I assume the product that was provided to me is defective. I'm not sure why for a faulty product I'm being penalized to bear the expense.
Is it my mistake to opt for Faber above other company brands?
I request you to please help in this regard.
