I have been a part of the Fitness First CP, New Delhi before and thought of joining it again. The same issue both the times: a very hidden and and sneaky administration. They never quoted their prices anywhere and asked me to come over and have a little "chat". But when I did take out the time and efforts to go over, they just confused me over and over again, so much so that I gave up the idea of joining the gym at all! I called them from a friend's number to confirm that the charged I had been informed about were common for all... But I wasn't surprised to find that after 5 minutes of negotiations they told me that since I was a "valuable customer" to them they might cut off my registration charges!! Bullocks!! just another trick to get me over and confuse me again! I am very disappointed and cheated due to these strings of incidents with Fitness First. I hope the Managers read this!

    this is abhishek and one of my friend tarannum mallik is a member of your mumbai mega mall club.
    Your club members used to take her to night clubs and make her drink an instructor Hannah is involved in that.
    when i talk with them they used abusive language (Arjun Kapoor, Abhishek Chatterjee)
    she is the member since 4 years and no improvements. still she is going after disobaying her parents too.. so I also have doubt that your instructors (specially Arjun Kapoor) are into doping and tarannum mallik also seems into that.
    the happening because of your club members and instructors can ruin the name of your club so I am requesting you to take some positive action against them. through narcotic test and what ever you find suitable.

    tarannum files a complaint against me under pressure of these people. But police also found her mistake. same with her post she got a call from the gym and they asked her that they will bann her if she wdn't reply as I have talk with Tarannum's mother too about the matter they told that the payment is given to the gym advance so they are helpless to get it back from the so called health club. And the scenerio made her to write here or to apologies.

    So it's my humble request to gym management to take action on the people i mentioned and update me. or else i will have to go through RTI, Consumer court and other legal process. if needed i can mail the authorities the proof of gym activity. with in the group of hannah, arjun, abhishek chatterjee and tarannum. beside that as i have doubt about the group narcotic test may prove. and i also can attach proof here too but not going to, because it may harm club's dignity

    one thing i forgot to mention i have Hannah's text msg saved with me in different sims in which she is threatening me after i text her that i will come to your gym to complaint and she replied i.e. "Sure come right now, I am in the gym.. quite a few people wanna meet you." Is it the fitness first culture to respond a civilian like that who request them to remove a bad picture of their member from their fb. here by I would like to mention that if i hit with some miss happening fitness first mega mall and the instructors i mentioned above would be responsible for that.

    I am tarannum Mallik, I am responding to this message on the basis of complaint which is against Hannah, Arjun kapoor n abhishek Chatterji. I'm not in touch with abhishek bhola from long time. Iv registered a police complaint again him that he is sending me, Hannah, Arjun abhishek some threatening messages. This is a shame that these people got involved without any reason. And I am not in fault .

      I was a member of Fitness First gym Connaught place from last 2 years, suddenly they relocated the gym from N-Block to A-Block, which is very very small, a nd they have reduced the equipments and all the area so much. Only 2 washrooms are there and 1 is not working as well, they are charging the same amount and are not ready to reduce the amount even, I paid the fees of Dec-13 on 24th Nov-2013, and when i registered a complaint in the new gym on the very first day, they said we havent recieved your december payment, kindly pay it again. I had already made the payment and they were charging me double payment, i left the gym at that moment and i said i will not make the payment again, they had my credit card details, they harras people to give their credit card details.
      Please if possible i need my money back, this is a rediculous gym.

        Yesterday, on 30th September, at 4 o' clock, I paid 3576 rupees for membership at Fitness First, CP branch in Delhi. An hour later, another customer was charged 1730 rupees for the same membership plan. When I raised this issue, the manager did not compensate me for the loss. I wasnt even given any membership receipt. I only have my Credit card receipt. The sales team indulges in such wrong doing because customers do not have the right to information through a company price list. Every type of membership is discussed orally and settled orally.

          They have been constantly sending sms's to join. They do not have a location anywhere near my place of residence. I spoke to the GM Vipin Marwah in Connaught Place branch on [protected] (vipin.[protected]@fitnessfirst.net.in) who assured me that no more messages will be sent and the name will be removed from the data.

          Yet again, after a few weeks the messages have started coming in.

            I attended a Group Cycling class at Fitness First Platinum, Saket with the trainer Ms Divya Arora. I was with my son and daughter who also wanted to take a trial class. Her music was so vulgar that I was left embarrassed in front of my family. She played songs like Sexy, Sexy, Sexy mujhe log bolein and the item song Fevicol se. This was accompanied by vulgar gestures and liberal use of the [censored] word.

            Is this the kind of music that an international standard club instructor should play? Don't join this club!

              I was one of the founder members of Fitness First Platinum, Saket, New Delhi last year. Just like the other 300 founder members, I was promised by the Sales team that there is a lifetime guarantee that my monthly due would not be increased. This was how they convinced the first 300 people to join.

              Last month, they increased the monthly dues by 25% and called it a "nominal" increase. When we went to the management about why did they increase despite giving us a lifetime offer to make us join, the Sales Head Ms Rinki Kumar said that they "did not give it in writing" and there's nothing you can do about it. Just leave if you want. Now this would have been easy, but they charged Rs 10,000 as joining fee which they are not ready to refund.

              The Sales team at Fitness First platinum is the most dishonest that I've ever encountered. You don't expect an international brand to behave like this, but unfortunately this is the case.

                I have had the absolute displeasure of having to meet the owner of Jaison fitness first and he was rude, arrogant, insulting and I can only come to the conclusion that he either does not respect women or he hates foreigners. I firstly need to state that I was in no way interested in his business but he randomly interrupted a personal conversation between myself and a friend and he insisted on questioning us about what we had been discussing. He then went on to question our intelligence about fitness and training. He was rude and made it known that he was a doctor and not even knowing our professions or level of education he went on to imply that we had no knowledge about fitness. I stated that I was not interested in his business but he undermined my choice In a fitness centre and began to insult my choices and intelligence. As a female and also a foreigner to India I found this very unsettling. I have never been made to feel so insulted and he have never met a person who was as rude as Dr Jaison. I would personally not join his fitness centre as he would not be someone I would want to deal with. As a women I felt scared by his attitude towards me and the way in which he spoke to me had brought me to tears and made me uncertain about the rights of women in kochi, Kerala. Is this what happens when you are walking in a shopping area/souk?

                  The fitness first club at Connaught Place in Delhi gave me wrong information and based on that they took around 12000 rupees more from me. I went there with my wife and the concerned person said that whether we join both, or my wife joins alone the cost will be same under different scheme. I had very bad experience with Fitness First and would say people should be careful while joining Fitness First club. They are there to just earn money. They are not responding to my emails now!!!

                    Im a 34 year old woman and I took the personal trainer option at fitness first the trainer pushed me to train so hard that i had a stress related slip disc which was diagonised after MRI.

                    Fitness First is the WORST GYM! Pls dont join..

                    Im a 34 year old woman.. I joined a gym to lose weight. I am 100 kgs. 1st 2 months i gymed on my own and used to use the treadmill regularly. I had joined fitness first at Oshiwara and within 2 months the gym management suggested that I take up the personal trainer option if I was serious about the gym. Within the 1 week of my personal training itself my trainer whose name was Devendra started pushing me to the limit. I told him my back was paining but he continued to push me to do more squats. Then one morning my back pained so much that I wasn't able to get up. I realised something was wrong. I went to the head trainer and he realized too that the trainer had pushed me beyond my limits. He asked me to take rest. Finally when the pain continued I decided to visit a doctor and was shocked to know that I had Slip disc due to high exercise load. This was only due to the high persistence of the trainer.

                    Ive been cheated by Fitness first. Those people dont even have proper trainers who know when to stop their subjects from execising and how much is too much. Ive ran up a bill of 20000 just on my health and guess what I cant even exercise for the next 6 months. Such gyms must be shut down as they cheat consumers and play with their lives.

                      Fitness First (http://www.fitnessfirst.net.in) is a MNC company engaged in as the name suggest, operating high class gym. But it is known for its unethical practices across the world. Try Google Fitness First, unethical, fraud... there are sites dedicated to it.
                      Here in India, it is no different. All they are interested in is to bring you in. The company representatives who meet the potential client are given targets to book you at spot. They can go down to any cost (membership charges), just to bring you in.
                      Once, you are in...the Personal Trainers push you for signing in on personal training, that is around[protected] per session. Then the Dietitian forces you to join her diet course… that is around 10,000 for 10 sittings.
                      In case you want to leave the Fitness First…you hit the wall. They become very rude to the extend telling you that they feel you are leaving because you can’t pay their unreasonable membership charges. Then they tell you the most unreasonable rules of Fitness First. The notice period can last upto 59 days. Even after completion of the same, you still get threatening emails and phone calls telling you that they have not cancelled your membership and now the onus is on you to prove the same. They want you to come to their office and will not transact on phone or email.

                      Please be beware of this fraudulent MNC. It is better to jog in the park or join neighborhoods Gym then to take Fitness First membership.

                        Hi,

                        This is to bring to your notice that I have been cheated by a fitness company i.e. Fitness First India Pvt Ltd(GURGAON Branch) which actually made so many false promises at the time of closing the sale but did not deliver at all and ended up in the most pathetic and worst service one can expect from an MNC chain. I became the member of the above mentioned Gym as I had gone there once for enquiring about their services, and after that their sales executives were after my life to join the club and offered me good amount of lucrative benefits and attractive discounts. Somehow as it was close to my office I made up my mind and was ready to sign up and the deal was closed by one of their sales executive who acted very sweet and humble at that point of time and took my registration.


                        I have been duped and harassed fully by this fitness chain which is allowing me to end my relationship with them and was only interested in taking the memberships and collecting the money of different members.the same thing has been experienced by my other colleague also.
                        Pls tell me what to do and want to teach them a lesson for totally misguiding customers and doing these kind of harassment and fraud. These kind of organizations are crooks and are only here for short term gains and actually can't manage the things properly. Looking forward for the desired support with a due sense o[censored]rgency

                          I've been a member of Fitness First in CP For the past six months. The instructors and members are fine, but the management is the most incompetent group of nincompoops I've ever come across in my life.

                          The gym is frequently out of towels and hot water. When informed that about the problem, the manager (it used to be someone named Mandeep, now it's an interchange-ably useless man named Irshad) says it's "a problem with the vendor." Really? For three months running? Is there only one towel vendor in the NCR?

                          The attendants in the locker rooms are prone to making up stories. Once, one of them told me that the gym had decided to stop providing hot water after 11 am. Another time, they suggested that the gym was closing early - I arrived dripping in the lobby only to learn that it wasn't. At other times they gossip on the stairs and eat their lunch in the sauna, leading to an unpleasant cooked potato odor in that tiny room. The management seems not to care about this.

                          There are much better alternatives to this. Hell, running in Lodhi Gardens would be better than this. A portion of my day that was previously meant to be stress relief has become a nightmare. Be warned.

                            I had enrolled at fitness first india in july 2010, for a 8 months period. They are a premier health club. I have been requesting for a freeze in my membership since february 2011. Since I had some frequent official travel to undertake, due to which I would have not been able to attend the gym regularly.

                            What is a freeze- a freeze is a period when you don't attend the gym, and pay a nominal charge for continuing the membership. In this case monthly debit from my credit card is rs 2758 per month for normal usage and in the freeze period its rs 575 per month.

                            My biggest concern is they are repeatedly debiting my credit card even after continuous request to freeze the membership. This has happened for 3 months in a row now. Even after they confirming everytime that they will freeze the membership.
                            I informed them over the phone, for freeze in march on around feb. 13th, 2011 and reminded them on 27th feb again for the same, they still debited amount of rs 2758 in march.

                            Then I went to the club with 2 of my friends miss priya wadhwa and mr siddharth sharma in the 1st or 2nd week of march, to request for a membership cancellation, since I can fore see I would not be able to attend the gym regularly because of workload and office travel. But they informed me later that they will not cancel the membership since I had not completed the 8 months active membership yet.

                            I kind of acquiesced to agree on a freeze since I didnt have the time to run after or argue with them on their non sensical terms and conditions, which were now being shown to me in all new light to serve their purpose.

                            So in march 3rd week I told them to freeze my membership march onwards till july/Aug. When I will be able to rejoin the club. For which they called me and confirmed that my membership has been frozen from april onwards.They never gave me an email confirmation even after my asking for it!!
                            to my surprise they debited the full amount of rs 2758 on 1st april.
                            When I brought this to their notice they apologized to me saying that this was a system error and they will ensure that nothing other than the freeze charges is deducted from my card, till I come back. And once I am back they will not deduct any amount and give me 2 months usage as back dated payment, since I had already paid full amount in march and april while I had not used the club for a day and had also requested for a freeze. They also sent me a email confirmation for this.

                            I took this seriously and thought the matter is sorted out and they will charge just the freeze amount rs 575 to my card

                            but to my surprise, I again got an sms notification on may 2nd, 2011 from my bank that they have charged me for the whole month the normal usage charge of rs 2758.

                            I am now really worried with the whole state of affair since I feel nothing is stopping them from miss-using my credit card details. And they dont have any policy of cash refund or reverse payment in their system. I am so offended with there un-professional and callous attitude that I dont want to continue any relationship with them and will like to receive back my whole amount they have debitted for 3(2758*3) consecutive months even without my consent and stop any auto debit by the club of my credit card any further.

                              Dear Executive,

                              This is to bring to your kind notice that I have been badly treated by a company which boasts of excellent standards and brings out itself as 'For the People' sort of a firm doing all works for improving the health of people around the world, but sadly they falter as happened in my case.

                              I took a membership from Fitness First CP center (Applicable for usage in all Gold clubs across India), since August 2010. Somehow as it was close to my home I made up my mind and was ready to sign up and the deal was closed by one of their sweet sales executive, I paid INR 7000 as the total fees including the first month membership and admin fees and also took a commitment for 18 months which was part of their plan.

                              In July 2011 after which due to my sudden city change I had to apply for cancellation for July and move away. To my surprise I was shown in my original papera that there were two clauses for cancellation one saying one month notice and the other saying two months notice required. The executives never listned to me but still on insisting they filed a membership amendment form and applied for cancellation.

                              I followed up for the next 15 days after which I cam to know that they have lost those papers which I filed and now I have to pay for the next two months for filing my cancellation. On negating that, they told me alternatively I can freeze my account paying not just one but 20% of my membership fees every month. Being close to my residence I accepted it and told them whenever I am in Delhi I will pay the amount. In January when I shifted back and went for reusing the club, I was forcibly asked to pay two months fees
                              in full and rest of the months as Freezing as I have used their Mumbai club on one day which was impossible ad I never went there. All in all, they were all time killing techniques as they never want a member to come back after his membership is over.

                              Now when I know I really need some place to workout and these people keep sending me Membership dues for nothing i can not really do anything with this as currently till the time I pay INR 5200 for cancellation, and further 6000+ as joining and membership fees I will not be able to use their club.

                              It is really unfortunate that so many people develop such hassles with MNC companies like this where you are completely misguided on account of joining and get into legal issues at the time of exit. I am still open to activating my membership and using the club again provided these people come for help.

                                Hi All,

                                Dont join fitness first as they are real cheaters. They will take your money and will not allow you to use the gym. If you don't want to waste your money don't join there please.. The staff's behavior also having cheap attitude and behavior .

                                I have experienced the same and also many of my friends. If you really wanted to be in trap, go and join at your own risk.

                                  My daughter applied for membership for Fitness First Gym in the month April 17th 2011 ,in Select City Mall Saket N Delhi.While she paid the registration fee along with one month advance for the month of May2011, she was told to give credit card details which she did not have.She was suggested to give 3rd party credit card details as gurantee which she tried to arrange from her friends and fokes but failed.Finally today i informed the Gym that she is unable to arrange a credit card so kindly refund the membership as, as per your rules she is not legible to become a member without a credit card ,which was refused by the Gym which came to me as a major shock. I told him that non refund of registration fee is understandable but not refunding the fee for the membership which is due in May and which you are refusing to grnerate due to her not being legible is abs illegal .you are charging us for a service which you will not provide witout credit card details and which we are ready to pay in cash, so u might aswell refund our money . He simply told me M'am your daughter gave us a cheque which we have encashed and now we cannot refund and we had informed her that credit card is a must for the membership without which she can not become a mamber .I told him if according to you she can not become a member why did you accept the cheque from her??his reply came to me as another shock which was Ma'm if somebody comes to us with money we can not say no we cant take it !! I have spoken to a few friends and everybody seems to have problems with Fitness First. I believe stern action needs to be taken against the Fitness Centre before they can take many more people like us for a ride !!

                                    I took an 18 month membership which expired in June 2010. Since I had been injured by a personal trainer I was granted an extra month that was supposed to be added, extending it to July. When it was over, I got a couple of phone-calls asking me about my status and each time I informed the marketing person calling that I was not renewing my membership, I also explained the reason for the extra month.

                                    I thought that was end of the matter. Now out of the blue in late December I get a letter which claims that they have sent me letter for the past 3 months (not true) and that I need to pay my arrears on my account to the tune of over Rs. 12,000/- !! Further action is threatened if I don't pay up in 7 days.

                                    They ask me to look at my contractual obligations i.e. the fine print on my original contract (which of course I don't have anymore).. and I believe this is a scam that is perpetrated on innocent people who assume their membership is over once the stipulated time period is done. I have also on more than two occasions informed who ever has called of the same.

                                    I have absolutely no intention of allowing them to extort money from me in this fashion and I am appalled that a reputed organization like that would resort to this sort of behavior. I will raise this issue in various forums if I am harassed by them in this fashion.

                                    Hi Amrita,
                                    I'm going through the same torturious experience with City Walk, Saket Fitness First Management. They are not ready to to listen.
                                    I'm not going to the gym since February but they keep adding dues each month despite my notification that i have left the gym.

                                    Have you taken any action against them ? Please advise what should i do ?

                                      I am Girish Ladde. My sister was planning to enroll for 3 months at Fitness First at Eva Mall location in Bangalore. While filling the application form, my sister studied the Terms & Conditions specified by Fitness First; she noted few Terms & Conditions which she was not comfortable with; so she decided not to opt for the service provided by Fitness First. Before the application process was completed, administration team of Fitness First had debited an amount of Rs.6011 using my sister's Debit Card. Fitness First administration team at Eva Mall location had verbally committed that Rs.6011 will be returned to my sister in a duration of 4 working days. No money has been returned by Fitness First administration team yet.

                                      Now Fitness First administration team at Eva Mall location are not ready to return the money that has been debited from my sister's account using Debit Card.
                                      The amount of Rs.6011 debited from my sister's account using Debit Card are towards Administration Fees and Membership Fees for 3 months; as the registration process is not completed and no membership is given to my sister, Fitness First has no right to refuse to return the money.
                                      My sister has not signed Terms & Conditions document specified by Fitness First, due to which the registration process is still incomplete.

                                      I had raised my requested with the Sales Manager of Fitness First at Eva Mall location in Bangalore, he says that if we are not willing to opt for the service provided by Fitness First, then we have to adjust the money by getting them a customer who will use services offered by Fitness First on behalf o[censored]s. Why should I refer a customer to these kind of misguiding service providers?
                                      After numerous follow-ups with the Sales Manager of Fitness First at Eva Mall location in Bangalore, I got his boss's mobile number who is available only between 2 PM to 4 PM and he never picks his mobile phone during this time.

                                      I am fed-up of following-up with these guys.

                                      I would like to know if any member of this forum faced this kind of issue with Fitness First.

                                      Please assist.

                                      hi this is priyanka i have been a member with fitness first for almost a year know
                                      and i must say that this is the one of the best club i hve ever come across.the classes which they have are fantastic the quickest way to get in good sahpe is the group classes...fitness first have chnged my life earlier i was very fat and xtremely lazy but the way the trainers take care o[censored] in the group classes is commendable..loved it hopefully will continue for a long term thanks to fitness first...love to have fitness first in india...

                                      I agree with you . The marketing team of fitness first is a total fraud.

                                      They promised me some offers at time of joining but changed theirminds later.
                                      Also, they debited the amount frommy credit card already and are not ready to givepromised offers.

                                      Their manage named Harish (from oasis mall koramangala) isnoteven interested in customer's grievances.

                                      They should stop these malpractises and must be punished !!!

                                        My brother and I have taken the 18 month passport membership @ FF. At the time of joining, we were assured that the trainers on floor are obliged to guide and assist and that if I so please, I can engage a personal trainer. I have completed my 17th month @ FF and am really disappointed to say that the Fitness [protected]@ CP has not lived up to my expectations. The trainers on floor are mostly on a one track agenda to sell some 30 day/ 10 day personal training package (which are expensive). It is after joining that the management puts you under the impression that for continued support you require personal training. I have, however, been pushing my way around for the past few months, to squeeze out a workout plan (which would be a step up from the previous one) / assistance otherwise...of all things! The trainer with whom I was speaking with (after much delay...of a week or, maybe more) prescribed my first two workout plans. After understanding that I wouldn’t engage him for personal training, he called for another trainer to assist. This 'other trainer' , though cooperative initially, also starts giving me a bhashan on personal training (like..in the middle of my workout ! ) .He also had the cheek to say that if he continues to assist me at the level he currently does, others (i suppose the management) would suspect that he is providing personal training illegally ('under the table' - is the term he used i.e. without paying the gym) . So I told him that I'm uninterested in engaging a trainer for 30 days/ 10 days as it’s beyond my means. The net result being that I do not have an updated workout card for the past month + and there is very little that can be done/ that i want to do abt it.

                                        I must also share an incident that took place with my younger brother. He comes usually in the mornings and is continuously pestered by one trainer called ' Daljeet' (bearded chap, wears a cap most of the time). It is only of late that I was forced confront this guy. He apologised and told me that this is his way of joking around (little did he know of the tension his constant pestering caused at home). The net result is that I'm not renewing my membership @ FF out of sheer disgust.
