I had opened a saving account ([protected]) with hdfc bank, old airport road, bangalore which i was used as salary account. Since i stopped working, i had not maintained the minimum balance 10000 inr in an account. They started charging penalties in my account and it went to minus - 6500 inr as on feb-2016. I had visited the bank in feb-2016 and requested them to reverse it, so that i can start maintaining the minimum balance.
They asked me to pay 1000 inr and i paid it. They charged this 1000 inr as penalty changes for jan-15, feb-15 and sep-15. Then they took 1 month time and reversed -5500 inr.
My account was showing the balance as 0, 00 inr after reversal. Then later i have deposited the minimum balance of 10000 inr and then suddenly on the second day of my deposit, they charged total - 6250, 23 inr as a penalty from apr-2015 to mar-2016 for not maintaining the minimum balance. This is ridiculous.
I went to bank and informed this. He said it should had not been charged and he is not aware of it too. Then he said it may not be possible to revere the complete amount which was charged, hence he may try for 60% amount to reverse.
In may-2016, they again charged 687 inr as a penalty for apr-2016, since the account went to low balance after their charges of 6250, 23 inr. What is this?. I had maintained 10000 as minimum balance and it went to low balance of 4248, 27 inr, due to the charges you debited. For that also, how can you charge?. I was actually waiting for reversals, otherwise i would had maintained the minimum balance.
Is this the way you (As a bank) cheat the customer?. How the customer believes you to continue further. You might have millions of customers worldwide, but you had started already loosing the customers day to day by cheating like this.
Now i got charged with the total amount of 7937, 23 inr (1000 + 6250, 23 + 687) as a penalties from jan-15 to apr-16. As i believed you and maintained the minimum balance, i kindly request you to please reverse the complete amount of 7937, 23 inr.
