Hyundai Motor India — EON EPS Module Faulty

Address: New Delhi, Delhi, 110075

Hi,

I bought my Hyundai EON in October 2013. It's been 3 & half years. Yesterday (07th April 2017) suddenly my car's EPS system stopped working. Since then I need to run my car in Manual steering mode, which is very hard to maneuver and tough in driving.

On showing it to Deep Hyundai workshop, Nangli Sakrawati, Najafgarh, Delhi today, they reported that the power steering (EPS module) is not working and it needs to be replaced to get it working. The cost of EPS module is around Rs. 8000/-. But, what really surprises me is that how can this part fail within such a short duration of the car's age/use. My car has clocked only 13000 km.

I believe Hyundai should look into the matter of Electronic Power steering module as these seem to be faulty (manufacturing defect) that they are using in EON cars.

I have also read several articles on Hyundai EPS problems on various other models like i10, Verna and Elantra. Also, in the USA, Hyundai has recalled many batches of cars where EPS has been found to be faulty due to a manufacturing defect. The same needs to be done in India also.

My Car is only 4 years old and has run only 15-16 K but EPS problem is coming from last 40-45 days. when I switch ONN the ignition the EPS suddenly give a jerk to the staring wheel and EPS notification light occurs on dashboard. then I have to restarts the engine at least 20 times to starts EPS working. Don't know when it will stop working. I Personally believe the Hyundai should recall the cars and get the work done.

This is to inform you that i bought my Hyundai EON Magna+ in November 2012. It's been almost 5 years. On October 4, 2017 suddenly my car's EPS system stopped working and changed to Manual steering mode, which is very hard and tough in driving.
When i took the vehicle to Talwar Hyundai workshop, Tadbund, Secunderabad, on October 5, 2017, they reported that the power steering (EPS module) is not working and it needs to be replaced to get it working. The cost of EPS module is around Rs. 8000/- and they were not sure if the module will the problem.I was also told if the module does not fix the problem they will have to change the whole assembly of the steering which will cost me around Rs.19000/- and will take a minimum of 1 week time to get the part from Chennai and fix it. But, what really surprises me is that how can this part fail within such a short duration of the car's age/use. My car has clocked only 12400 km.

I believe Hyundai should look into the matter of Electronic Power steering module as these seem to be faulty (manufacturing defect) that they are using in EON cars and Hyundai should recall the batch of cars where EPS has been found to be faulty due to a manufacturing defect.

Same problem with my eon magna purchased in december 2012 and run only 14000km.
Its worst thing i am facing.
Steering failure is very serious problem for us and as well as others driving or walking on roads.
I am also facing the same problem with my EON car for the past few days. The EPS light glows intermittently and the steering becomes very hard. Based on the above comments, I believe Hyundai Eon is not a good choice to buy
please use automateindia EPS it is far better than hyundai one.
I am using Eon car. Yesterday I got the problem of EPS and steering has become very hard.

My car is 4 years old.

Hi,

I bought my Hyundai EON in feb 2014. It's been 4 year Today (22 april. 2018 suddenly my car's EPS system stopped working. Since then I need to run my car in Manual steering mode, which is very hard to manual steering mode and tough in driving.

Hyundai Eon is the worst product of Hyundai & there is no one to listen customer complaint..it need to replace by company or else stop the manufacturing by irresponsible staff
I bought my Hyundai EON in Dec 2012 . It's been 5 & half year. Km 29000 covered. On 7th April, while going from office, I found Steering too much hard to operate. I found EPS warning signal blinking on dashboard. Since then I need to run my car in Manual steering mode, which is very hard to manual steering mode and tough in driving. Today I taken vehicle at Dealership M/s Sai Auto Hyundai, Borivali. They Scan fault and said there is problem with steering Module and motor, which require to replace. the estimated cost Rs. 8000 plus with labour. my question is, why Module should fail so less KM ? Is Hyundai assembled faulty Module ?
I believe Hyundai should look into the matter of Electronic Power steering module as these seem to be faulty (manufacturing defect) that they are using in EON cars.
Hi,
I HV eon & it's run 11300 km

Hyundai should replace at free of cost : analysis why such short duration many users having same issue.
Hyundai should take responsibility for user.

Same with my I10, while driving a car in heavy traffic, suddenly I noticed that the car steering was too hard to take a turn and EPS stopped working. Not sure why, but this was without a warning. Now Hyundai is charging Rs. 12000 and 7 days for getting is back to normal.
I bought my EON car in August 2013 and it has clocked only 18000KM. But, from last one month EPS sign is on while starting the car. I fail to understand how EPS can become faulty in such a short duartion & after 18K. I checked with a service center and they are charging 8000 for its replacement. I think this problem is coming in most of the EON models and Hyundai should replace their faulty EPS module free of cost.
Having same issue, model 2012, ran 19K km only, EPS fail
Hey,

I have also the same issue with CAR but I am not here to complain & all.

Just wanted to know, from where should I buy this & what it's the actual cost.

Best Regards

Saurabh
Similar issue on i10, 2011 model. and want to understand its cost.
I had bought Huindai EON during February 2013 and it's EPS system gone faulty w.e.f 8th July 2019. I have read the complaints and most of the problems in Huindai cars is its EPS system. The company should work on it to solve the problem. I had enquired about the cost of EPS from service center at Dwarka Delhi and they intimated that it's cost is around 11 thousand rupees.
