I owned i20 in 2013, now ODO showing 21000km. Very professional drived/used car.
I was on my way, to slowdown for speed breaker I slowed down my car and shifted down gear after pressing clutch. But clutch retained back slowly. Later with in 1min clutch stopped working, car was not able to move as I could shift the gear but clutch was locked at press position. Then I switched off engine then after some time clutch paddle came out and now stuck at unpressed position. My car stopped in-between the road, now even I could not start the car again as clutch peddle was not going down. Then I called service center and towed my car till showroom.
Is i20 have CLUTCH DESIGN ISSUE??? Similar problem faced by many i20 customers.
Then,
Service centre guy said need to replace complete clutch kit. Its due to wear and tear of parts. Will cost 22000Rs. And it's necessary to change master cylinder, slave cylinder as it's pair then clutch plate and pressure plate.
At approx 21000 km running such pneumatic cylinders are wear out. Then it must be Design Issue by Hyundai.
Please look in matter urgently.
