Dear Sir,

Sub : Break-down of i10 Magna, 1.2 IMM BS IV Car. Regn No. GJ01RC0925
Chasis No. MALAM51CLDM435977, Engine No.G4LADM062241
Date of Regn.[protected], Month & Year of Mfg. June 2013
Ref : My Complaint Regn. No. 88311 dated[protected]

I am a proud owner of above Car.

The Car was regularly serviced by Concept Motors Pvt. Ltd., Vatva, Ahmedabad. The Car has run only 5678 kms till now.

On[protected], I have moved the Car for cleaning purpose by starting. After cleaning the car, after 30 minutes I tried to start, but there was trouble and could not start. Then I contacted your customer care and they have deputed a technician, who was come and checked the battery etc. and found okay and suggested, there is some fuel choke up problem and needs to be taken to Workshop. Then again I have contacted your customercare, who has arranged for towing and car sent to Sharma Hyundai, Naroda, which is the nearest workshop. It is on the advise of customercare, I have given the car at Sharma Hyundai, otherwise I would have given it to Concept, my regular service dealer.

On[protected], after checking (Mr.Jaimin Prajapati – Service Supervisor, Sharma Hyundai, Naroda) informed me that the air filter is cut by mouse, but still we are checking other parameters of the Car and will report to you the details. On[protected], to my surprise, I have been informed that while conducting compression test, out of 4 cylinders, in 3 cylinders, they found very less pressure and engine needs to be opened. I have enquired about the exact cause, when I have been told that it may be a manufacturing defect. I have asked for the various test reports that they have recorded, but could not give, claiming these are their internal records. For the above work Sharma Hyundai has quoted Rs.75000 approx., without finding out the actual cause even after 8 days.

I have sent above complaint to Hyundai customer care, but not received any feed back from them. What I do not understand is, How come a manufacturing defect occur after 1-1/2 years. In that case, why the WARRANTY is not admissible in this case ?

What is surprising me is that for such a small defect (Air filter broken) such a huge work is involved?

I await your valuable observation & advise.

With best regards

Murali Nair
