Hyundai Motor India — Utter disgrace in the name of customer service

Name : Jiten Suvarna Mobile number:- [protected] car : i20 elite diesel asta hi i booked the elite i20 asta diesel on the 20th january 2015. i was informed by the sales representative Joel Castelino that the car will be alloted to me by feb 5th 2015 and will be delivered to mumbai from chennai factory by the 10th feb 2015 after which the registration process will take 5-10 days maximum so was promised by 15th or maximum by the 20th of febuary i should recieve the delivery of the car. 21st of feb is my mothers birthday. it was her 60th and wanted to make it special by taking the delivery on her birthday. i was exited as this was my first new car that i bought on my own money. i did inform joel that i have applied for a loan through Mahindra Finance and i can have the loan amount dispersed out to shreenath hyundai LTD as i dont have any problems if the emi starts from feb or march itself. joel informed me that in the past he has faced customer complaints that emi payments have started and they have not recieved the delivery of the car. i told him i dont mind paying the emi from feb itsel[censored]pon which he said not to disburse the funds. i reminded him that it was my moms birthday on the 21st febuary and i dont want any delays. he then informed me that on the 5th febuary 2015 once the car is alloted from chennai i can pay the downpayment and have the loan amount disbursed from the bank. he asked me for the mahindra finance rep name and number and i forwarded the details to him. he said that he will coordinate with the bank. i checked online for insurance rates and i was told by joel that it is compulsory for me to buy insurance from shreenath hyundai itself and i dont have another choice, he was offering me insurance for approx 33, 000 that covers zero depreciation also and i checked online i was getting insurance for 16, 000 i called the insurance company (ICICI PRU) and spoke to them abt buying insurance from them. ICICI rep informed me that the Hyundai sales rep will have a commision if i buy it from them. i then called up joel and explained to him that the insurance is a bit expensive upon which i was told that i did not have another option and was told that the car that was initially alloted to me can change and i may have to wait also i was scared and had to do whatever was told to me. then later i requested him for the car chasis number and vin number that was alloted to me. he texted me the details thats when i was assured that the car has reached mumbai i then again requested him abt the expensive insurance that he was selling he then asked me to speak to his manager swati chauhan about the same i spoke to her on the phone and i was told the same that i dont have any other option. i spoke to icici rep over the phone and i was told that it was my right to choose whichever insurance company i want and shreenath hyundai is a car dealer that sells cars and not insurance. so around the 13th feb 2015 i visited the showroom to pay the down payment without the insurance premium. joel was not availableat the store. i had informed him a day is advance that i will come to pay the downpayment by cash and is it okay if i pay cash will they accept it, he said its okay to pay entire downpayment by cash. since joel was not available swati chauhan attended to me i told her that i have decided to buy insurance on my own and that it was my right to choose any insurance company i want and that they cannot force me to buy insurance from them and requested them to accept the down payment as soon as possible as i was on my way to work and was getting late. swati chauhan asked me to wait for joel to return as he was on a test drive. after waiting for 30 long minutes doing nothing just waiting i told her that i was late for my shift and i just wanted to make the downpayment and will speak to joel later. she then said that she wont accept full cash downpayment and needs a certain percentage by check also. i then told her that she was just trying to manipulate things just because i decided to buy cheaper insurance from elsewhere. LATER SWATI chauhan says joel confessed to her that he had misinformed me that they accept full downpayment by cash. swati chauhan requested me to pay 15, 000 rupees by check and 1, 97, 430 rupees by cash wch i paid on the 14th feb 2015 and i told her that i will forward the insurance details to them by email. now i was just waiting for the delivery of the car i called the showroom to check the delivery i was told by joel that they have not yet received the Delivery order from the bank and once they recieve the DO (delivery order) the next day the car is forwarded for rto registration and since i was booking special number i just have to wait one day to get tax reciept and i can then take the delivery. after all false turn around time given my moms birthday passed and did not recieve delivery on time i did check online for reviews and got to know that i will recieve a call to know abt my buying experience i waited for that call desperately but never recieved one. i tried to download mobile app for hyundai and was not able to register as joel had smartly added his number in my details as he decided to take that feedback call and manipulate things there also. i gave the car for first service last week and when i enquired what is the phone number that they have for me they said it was [protected] when i dialed that number joels name showed up on my screen. how i wish i knew wheather or not the feed back call is completed or not for my profile if yes what is the score so that i can take legal actions for fraud. i wish Joel Castelino and Swati Chauhan be terminated from their services or be put through rigourous training on how the sales process works and refrain from providing false or misleading information. i really dont know if this feedback is going to be considered or even be read but if not hyundai atleast potential buyers should be aware of the kind of service you provide. i was way too dissapointed as i was not even offered a cheapest service as complimentary for the false misleading info provided or extended waiting period. car promised delivery on the 21st febuary 2015 actually recieved delivery on the 3rd march 2015.
