Dear sir/madam
We are a consumer of indane gas (Consumer number: 00044) for more than 30 years, currently being serviced by your distributor m/s karco distributor, 4/2 pottery road, kolkata. At present my aged parents (My father is 80+ and my mom is 75+) are availing the service in kolkata.
For the past 5-6 months they are undergoing a continuous harassment post booking a gas cylinder. We have got 2 cylinders, if we book one cylinder it never comes before 45 days-60 days and sometimes on the verge of being the 2nd one getting empty. For someone as old as 80+, he is being made to run from pillar to post for getting a cylinder. Not that its happening only with them it seems karco has specialised in the art of harassing the customer.
While i am writing this, our booking for 6th october is yet to be delivered. After couple of rounds my mom was told that gas has been issued on 6th nov, no one knew where it has been delivered or whom it has been issued. I am sure if your parents are of that age and made to run like this, you wont appreciate either. This is criminal and with every passing day we are getting the feeling that iocl has completely surrendered to these unscrupulous distributors.
As a long patron of iocl i still would like to expect there will be some action on this mail. Its just an effort to save my parents from the harassment, meted out by karco, since i don't stay in kolkata there is little i can do in such circumstances. I am sending this same letter to pmo and ministry of petroleum and natural gas, with the hope of restoring some sanity towards the treatment being meted out to consumers like us.
