I was supposed to board a flight from New Delhi to Kochi on 24.12.2017 at 6:25 AM(6E 223). We checked in on time but due to a heavy rush at the airport(it was one day before Christmas), we arrived 5 minutes late at the boarding gate. Mr Upendra who was present there was extremely rude to us (my parents are senior citizens) and did not let us board the flight even though the plane had not yet departed. We had to buy new tickets which for three persons costed around Rs56000(we were on a package tour so going the next day for Rs 30000 was not an option).
I agree it's a silent airport but the airlines do make announcements for passengers who are late( the airport officials told me so).
So basically if these flights are 5 to 6 hours late, its all right but if a passenger is 5 minutes late he has to pay 56000.
Is this a new strategy to loot unsuspecting passengers?
All this chest thumping about low cost airlines and being on time are of no use when the experience is that of a passenger bus.
I request the airlines to refund our Rs56, 000. Else, we have no option to approach the consumer court. Was this information helpful? |
