I have been an indigo customer for past 12 years i should say and this has never happened to me.
I reached the airport well in time. Due to some issue at the security, i left my jacket which had the boarding pass and returned to the security gate. Bangalore being a silent airport, there was no announcement and when i rushed back to the boarding gate, even though the last bus to the aircraft had not started the staff at the counter refused to let me in that bus. I had a medical emergency as i was carrying medicines for someone and even after explaining this and what happened to me earlier, to the person at the boarding namely - mr. Darshan, he refused to let me into the bus which had not even started moving when i arrived there.
The flight was supposed to leave at 2:45 pm, and i reached at 2:26pm at the boarding gate pleading for my case. I do understand that i was late as boarding gates close 25 minutes before departure, but the situation was not my fault and if the last bus was waiting, a message over wireless could have helped me get into the bus which was going to the aircraft. The total intent of mr darshan seemed that i should buy another ticket on the spot. He was rude and very unaccommodating. I will never fly indigo and take this up to the highest level possible. Let the cctv footage and everything decide the future of this case.
I had to spend extra rs 5000/- to purchase the ticket for the very next flight as the fare difference as i could not wait longer.
Mr darshan spent time checking my fare details and asking me stupid questions like when did you purchase this ticket right at the time when he should have called the staff in the airbus, instead he kept on refusing without even trying or asking any of his senior in the airplane or elsewhere.
