Dear sir/mam,
I had a credit shell of rs.3, 430 from indigo for the ticket i booked thru ixigo for travel of my wife and 2.5 year daughter on 21st march 2020 which got cancelled by the airline due to covid-19 pandemic.
After getting some relaxation from the ministry of civil aviation and dgca in lockdown-4, i re-planned my wife and daughter's return from their hometown to noida at our home as they got stuck there since 2.5 months because of the lockdown. Foe the same, i reached out to ixigo on twitter and requested them to book their tickets from ranchi to new delhi for 08/06/2020. Along with my wife and daughter, my aunt and this 8 year old son had also to travel as part of her regular treatment i delhi for asthama/thyroid/bp & diabetes. I requested the airline to book all the for tickets at once and i agreed to pay the difference amount. The fare then was rs.2, 700 but ixigo refused to do the same saying that we can book only your wife and daughter'r ticket with the available credit shell amount of rs.3, 430 against the pnr already issues to them from indigo. I agreed to go ahead with my wife and daughter's booking with ixigo and decided to book the other two tickets separately myself.
The ixigo representative asked me the flight number and timing for which i wanted to book the tickets. I asked him to book the indigo flight (As i had no option) for 8:35 pm from ranchi to delhi. Upon checking the current fare details, he sent me a payment link to pay rs.1, 970 as the difference amount and used the credit shell of rs.3, 430 (Total fare rs.5, 400) and after i sent the payment screenshot as evidence of me having made the payment at 9:30 pm on 21/05/2020, he committed to share the pnr within next 3 hours.
Since the ixigo representative had confirmed receipt of payment and committed that i'll get the pnr in next hours, i went ahead and booked 2 separate tickets at 11:00 pm in the same flight for my aunt and his 8 year old son. I was confident to book the tickets as the ixigo representative had committed to share the pnr within 3 hours and tickets were available at the same fare of rs.2, 700 until 2:30 am in the morning (22/05/2020) which i had been regularly checking upon out of my worriedness.
Apparently, i waited until 2 am in the morning for the pnr but unfortunately i didn't receive the same and by now i had already booked the flight tickets in the same flight for my aunt and his son. Next morning at 10:30 am the ixigo representative sent me message on twitter saying the flight tickets have exhausted and no tickets are available in the same flight and fares of the other flights had increased as much as by rs.4, 000 per person and again asked to give details of the new flight where i want to book the ticket for my wife and daughter and also demanded more difference amount per the current fare.
Now because of ixigo's laziness and ignorance why should i bear the pain and loss? These people have created such a mess for me now that i don't have any extra amount to further pay rs.8, 000 to book my wife and daughter's tickets in another airline which is available in the morning. Secondly, my aunt and his son who reside in the same house and were hopeful to leave together with my wife and daughter to catch the flight from their home to ranchi covering a total distance of 150 kilometres by road are now in a very petty condition. My aunt and his son have never ever traveled all alone by air before. Moreover, even if she manages to fly alone with her son she cannot stay outside the airport all alone for 12 hours to catch the flight at 8:35 pm for which her ticket is already booked as in case if my wife has to board the morning flight she will have no option but to wait for next 12 hours before she could board her flight. Travelling from the same home twice is not feasible and possibly. My wife and 2.5 year daughter now have no option but to take a morning flight and leave their hometown at 3 am during the night curfews and the route of the road is also very much disturbed.
Now if i have to rebook all the tickets afresh, i'll have to pay rs.42, 000 (7, 000
X 6) which i cannot afford and by cancelling the ticket i had booked separately for my aunt and his son, that too will give me no refund and i'll additionally loose rs.6, 000 for the same booking even i cancel the tickets.in total i'll have to bear a loss of rs. 48, 000 when i could have booked the same in just rs.8, 000 after using my available credit shell of rs.3, 400.
Since yesterday (22/05/2020) morning i have continuously tried to reach out to ixigo on twiiter and call but they are not responding on twitter and not helping on calls as well. Meanwhile the flight fares have gone up by 3 times the actual fare of rs, 2, 700. I called them numerous times yesterday (22/05/2020) and today on 23/05/2020 and they again committed twice saying that i will get a call back but not once i received any calls from them.
I had spent more than 5 hours of my time on call since yesterday to get any resolution but unfortunately i didn't get any.
I would request you to please direct ixigo to refund my entire amount of (Rs.5, 400) so that i could book my families tickets in a train which is now the only option left with me and this way all the four family members can travel altgether.
I request you to please take prompt action on this as my wife will loose her job if she doesn't resume her office by 09/06/2020 since she is in her hometown in west bengal, purulia since 2.5 months stuck due to covid-19 lockdow and i have no money at this point of time to book her tickets and loosing any job at this junction will be an irreparable loss for us.
