I had applied for a comprehensive car insurance policy from new india assurance for my wagon r (Maruti) (2008 model). The insurance agent, ms mrinalini ahuja, intently wrote "car make" as hyundai/accent instead of maruti. When asked her to make the necessary corrections, she is asking me extra money for making correction and says that since the insurance company has a tie up with maruti, the system does not allow us to change the company name. My car insured value is 73000/-, year of manufacture is 2008. So for a 11year old vehicle with 20%ncb, they are charging me 12000/- and they are not ready to cancel the policy and refund any of the amount. The same reply i ha e received from the company official ms bharati hardasani. This seems like a fraudulent practice. Please help me in this regard.
