This is in reference to the Samsung refrigerator I have procured. I procured the refrigerator in 2013 and from the time I have purchased that, I am facing complaints in it. I was initially told to complain at the Samsung helpline number and I did so.
The problem started with water seeping from the front door and the fridge emitting a foul smell. The engineers who came were more interested in making us private clients than in solving the problem.
The foul smell from the refrigerator was so much so that it used to come in the next room. It created an embarrassing situation in front of our guests many times. Also, pls keep in mind that we are strict vegetarians, therefore we don't store any kind of egg and meat in the refrigerator.
Once, the engineer came, said that the gas needs to be refilled, did so along with chopping off some thermocol from the freezer. He charged Rs. 1500 for the same without giving any receipt. In two days the smell recurred, when I called him, he asked me to complain at the customer care as he couldn't do anything.
The new engineer came up with his medical problem saying he can't smell anything at all as he suffers from Anosmia. He checked the refrigerator and said that the gas is leaking ( which was refilled two days ago). He was shocked to hear that his colleague had chopped off the thermocol. I made the two of them talk on phone. The first engineer promised he will come the next day and solve the problem as he had taken the money.
I again complained at the customer care and requested for a senior engineer to be sent. The third who came also said, he couldn't do anything and will request his senior to come.
The fourth engineer, finally suggested that we use coffee powder and keep that in the refrigerator for few days and keep changing it. The smell reduced to an extent.
After about 15-20 days the refrigerator wasn't cooling anything. The freezer was also not working. I again complained at the customer care. This time they had sent the first engineer who came and had charged money. He said he couldn't do anything and will refer the complaint further. The very same day, after one hour, someone from the gas refilling department came, inspected the fridge and banged 4-5 times at the bottom of the fridge and immediately we heard a " whoosh" sound. After about five minutes he called us and said that the body of the fridge is dysfunctional and the gas is leaking from the front door. He said that this problem is irreparable and he insisted that we process the request for a refund, where in 22% will be deducted every year. He called us 3-4 times insisting that we should process the request. We didn't agree to that.
The first engineer who came to us is Gurdeep and the last one who banged the fridge is Shyam.
I am strictly mentioning it here that we were not helped these two people at all. Infact they tortured us mentally by not coming on the day promised and merely asking us to switch off the fridge for 24 hours time and again.
Samsung is a reputed company, I regret my decision of buying this appliance from you as the service you have provided is shattering.
Please check your records and have a look as to how many times I have complained.
