In my samsung refrigerator rt32, water was leaking drop by drop inside, it was also coming out and causing a puddle on the side. The items towards the back of the fridge were catching ice. I had the same issue last year and it was successfully fixed by the engineer in 1 visit. This time, the first engineer came on 4th july and tried to fix the issue, service request [protected]. Within 2 weeks, i had to request an engineer again for the same issue, service request [protected]. Another engineer, supposedly more experienced, came. He did something different and asked for the fridge door to be repaired in addition. I agreed. So he unhinged the door and switched off the fridge committing the door would be picked up for repair next day. But after my daily followup, it was picked up 3 days later and returned after 5 days. Imagine living without a fridge for 10 days. These 2 episodes cost me about 2500 rs and a lot of mental agony and torture!! This was august. By beginning of september, i started noticing water inside my fridge again. I wanted to be sure so i waited. Finally, after being sure, i called for a senior technician (Very specifically an engineer who knows how to repair fridges) service request [protected]. Yesterday this engineer called naresh came. I told him the history and he opened the freezer. There is a thermocol board at the back of the freezer in front of the cooling rods. He showed me that the thermocol has caught water and that is why water is dripping inside the fridege. His solution was that let the thermocol dry under a fan for 24 hours and then he will put it back and it should fix the fault. So i gave the go ahead. There was a silver foil covering about 60% of the thermocol board which he tore to facilitate drying. After destroying the foil, the engineer told me that he wouldn't get the same quantity of foil from the company, they get very little quantities as the company doesn't want them to repair these faults. But still he will try to get the right amount from the company. If he is unsuccessful, he will procure it from elsewhere and i am supposed to reimburse him for that. I asked him what will it cost and he asked for 850 rs. On top of that he wanted service charges. I am furious and feel cheated!!! First, why should i pay service charges again when my previous issue hasnt been resolved. Second, why wouldnot samsung provide the foil to be replaced? Third, how come their engineers are doing a side business of fooling customers? The engineer should have told me about the foil unavailability before tearing the foil and not afterwards and he is asking for undue amount for replacing it. Now my fridge is lying switched off again god knows for how long this time. I have lost faith in samsung service center and their engineers this year. Maybe their engineers work well only in the pehchan advertisement and elsewhere they are busy just torturing and fleecing people and nobody at samsung cares 2 hoots about it.
