I wish to bring to notice the modus operandi adopted by my cable operator m/s. Satellite electronics (7 star cable network), mini jewel, shop no. 03, 7 bungalows, andheri west, mumbai... Our tv cable connection blacked out overnight. On enquiring we were told that the set top box is faulty and needs to be changed... On making enquiries it was found out that this is a ploy to make money overnight. They change the settings of set top boxes which begins with a particular number series due to which the connection is disconnected. The providers does not do it will all the set top boxes at one go, but in phases, so that the same is not noticed and subscribers are not agitated.
We are now being forced to pay rs. 1, 000/- per set top box in order to restore our connections. This is not an one off case. This is being practiced by satellite electronics / 7star from seven bungalows to yari road in andheri west. There are many societies in which people have already been cheated.
Their ultimate intention is to force everyone to opt for hd connections which is higher priced.
We have paid a annual subscription for 03 connections (Out of which 01 is hd). Even if we wish to discontinue the services there are no refunds for balance period. The staff is rude and uncooperative, probably at the instructions of the owners.
