I registered for a 2 day workshop for Microsoft Power Bi. Day 1 was good. I learned something new. However, during the second day, which was today, they started aggressive marketing for 2 straight hours. I waited for the workshop to continue, which was also not for free. They charged Rupees 99 with taxes to register for this workshop. However, during the course, the instructor made some lucrative promises regarding some bonus content along with his course bundle. The price of this bundle course is Rs. 12, 200, which can be paid in two ways, 1. Full payment 2. In two installments. Both include added taxes. I was interested in the courses that were provided as they would actually be useful for our future. It includes heavy usage of AI. Now, the instructor cleverly uses the recent trends of layoffs by major firms due to the rise of AI to instil fear among the consumers and pressurises to buy their courses to get upskilled. He also said that if expectations are not met, all the amount would be refunded, and the refund policy says otherwise. He tried his best to hurry things up by saying there would be only the first 30 participants who would reap the benefits. And by this, he started a countdown saying 11 seats are left, and then after 5 minutes, 3 seats are left, etc. This made me a little restless, and I thought to give it a shot, and bought the masterclass but paid only the first instalment. Later, when I received my credentials via email, i checked and found that the course materials were pretty basic and are easily available for free on YouTube and others. He provided only the partial of the bonuses he promised. I decided to check some reviews online and found out that this guy Jatan Shah is running a scam with his so-called masterclasses. Many people have been duped. The refund policy on their website says, 'once purchased, it is non-refundable'. Most of the complaints online are regarding the same incident as mine. They also said that the Microsoft Office 365 account he promised is a shared access account with no onedrive access which breaches privacy. I mailed them several times and also texted them but no one responds. I feel cheated like so many other people. I want my hard earned money back, and this jatan shah must be investigated. I'll provide all the necessary links that are proof of this guy's business.
