I own a Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDI 2012 and have completed 40, 000 Kms on the vehicle.
I was getting the system error on 2nd January 2017, visited the service center and they told me that the EGR cooler has failed.
Question 1: Is this EGR cooler tested for 40, 000 Kms only
Question 2: I have seen the same problem with other SKODA/Volks owners, is Skoda doing anything to resolve.
I was told that, as the services are done regularly (based on the Kms), the service center will approach the management for goodwill approval for getting the EGR cooler replaced, they assured me that it will take 3-4 days to get approval, however, i had to chase them to find the status of my request for 3 WEEKS. IT IS NOW REJECTED.
Question 3: Are there any SLAs in place for Skoda service or it is as per the forums (Scary customer service)?
I insisted on getting the RCA done, but the service center is not aware
Question 4: Do you provide RCA for the issues or it goes unattended/uninformed.
Lastly i was told that it is a case of Adulterated fuel,
Question 5 : Can you please issue guidelines for the fuel that can be used in Skoda, i am staying in India and will get my vehicle re-fueled here not in Czech?
If your vehicles are not tested with Indian fuel, please put a disclaimer.
I do not know the escalation mechanism in Skoda, but i am planning to take legal action.
Determined not to BUY SKODA again.
