I purchased a Skoda Rapid Ultima I.16 MPI from Tafe access pvt limited, in Bangalore in April 2014. I was warned not to purchase a Skoda considering the worst after sales service quality in India. I ignored the warnings of my friends and well-wishers and went ahead with the purchase, because of the legacy of the brand. I wish to bring to your notice the inconvenience faced thus far. In the month of March 2016, I had complained that my AC controller (air flow circulation), was not working to Tafe access India Pvt Limited. The car was returned back without the complaint being attend to. Note that my car is in warranty until April 2019.
On April 8th, 2017 – I personally visited the Skoda service center for the regular service, and informed them of this problem which was persisting for one year. The service advisor stated that the issue will be fixed by end of day. In the meantime, the front brake (rotor and brake pads) were required to be changed after having done only 9000 Kilometers. Nevertheless, I requested them to replace it, with the service costing me INR 17, 784/-. I do not think that even my grandfather’s ambassador had to change brake related parts after having done 9000 Kilometers. So much for the quality that Skoda promises.
I was told after waiting for over 9 hours that the AC controller was not in stock and the they have requested for the part. Today, I received a call from your service advisor stating that the part is not available with Skoda India. It would be great if you could respond to the questions/clarifications requested below:
1. Why on earth do you sell cars for which you have no spares?
2. Why do make the customer wait for one year to tell him that there is no spare part available?
3. Why did the brake pads and rotor get damaged only after having done 9000 kilometers
4. Was it my mistake to by Skoda from Tafe access?
5. When can you pick up this piece of junk from my residence, anyways we have stopped using this car?
I deeply hurt as I am writing this email, since I am very passionate about my car and put in all my efforts to ensure that my car is maintained in the best possible condition. I did not know that my worst nightmare would come true only after having done 9000 kilometers. I have attached the complaint logged for your reference.
