Sub:- 1st Appeal under
Right to Information Act 2005 – Reg.
Sir,
I have
sought a particular information with the Public Information Office, Tamil Nadu State
Transport Corporation (Madurai
Division – II) Limited, No.2
Trivandrum road,
Vannarpettai, Tirunelvelli, vide RTI application dated 23.02.2015 which
was received by them on 25.02.2015 for which
I have not received any reply till date
even after a
lapse of 30
days from the
receipt of the application.
Aggrieved by the
same I am preferring
this appeal before
you
The news reported
in The Hindu
dated 16.02.2015 reveals
that 153 buses
were impounded upon
the order of the Honourable
Court for failure
to pay compensation
to a tune of
Rs.10.77 Crores. Now T.N.S.T.C., & S.E.T.C.,
are involved in
theft of vital
spare parts from
the buses impounded
under the order
of the Honourable
Court. T.N.S.T.C., &
S.E.T.C., are not in
a position to
produce the buses
before the Honourable
Court in Execution proceedings
for want of buses in
running condition, hence
the claimants are also unable to
execute executions petitions
The Motor vehicle Act
1988, was enacted
as a beneficial
Legislation to ascertain
that the injured
receives compensation, commensurate with the injuries sustained by him.
Similarly, the dependents of the deceased should be able to survive and
withstand the situation caused on
account of the death of the
breadwinner of the
family. The acts
of the T.N.S.T.C., & S.E.T.C.,
shatters the very
intention of the
Legislation. The reason for
seeking the information
is for a
genuine cause in
the interest of
public at large.
Hence, in the
interest of justice
the appeal may be considered
and Public Information Office, Tamil
Nadu State Transport
Corporation (Madurai Division – II) Limited,
No.2 Trivandrum road, Vannarpettai, Tirunelvelli,
may be advised to
provide me with relevant information under
R.T.I. Act at the
earliest.
