Xiaomi India — Poco X2 motherboard issue

My POCO X2 phone was not starting after update so I went to Xiaomi head office service centre for getting it checked and the service centre folk said it's mother board is dead due to software update and it will cost me around 8k.
He informed that we suggest our users not to install latest updates once the phone is 2 years old.
Very irresponsible action by both Xiaomi, it's subsidiary Poco and their service centre
