Apple India — Apple Iphone 4 Screen Scratch

I brought an Iphone 4 in the month on Jan, 2014. Few weeks back i went to change the scratch guard and noticed a small scratch on the screen. All i wanted to know was how can gorilla glass be damaged. I have never dropped my phone for the glass to be damaged. I visited the Apple store and the staff told me that nothing can happen.
