I had bought an iphone 10 for my father from the us in june-july 2018 under global warranty. After 4months o[censored]se, my father noticed a slight crack near the the camera. The phone had not fallen or man handled (My father hardly even uses the phone). On reading online, we found various articles where people said they had faced such issues overnight with iphones and in such cases the phone will be replaced.
Fistly, when i went to the customer service, they didnt even have a look at the phone and said it is physical damage. I then called apple support and they said, it is the duty of the service center to check the damage. When i went again to the store, they said it is physical damage without even checking the phone. I told them to check the phone and provide the report. The report states it is a physical damage. I told them i do not agree with that as the phone has not even fallen (How can a phone crack without falling!). They said tes, the phone has. Ot fallen as there are no dents but it is still physical damage and i need to pay plus 50000inr for a replacement. When i asked them how a phone can crack without falling, they had no answer. They just said it is physical damage.
I do not expect such cheating from apple. If i can buy a phone worth 90000, i can very well pay more to replace it. But here, it is a matter of right and wrong and i will not pay a penny as it is not my mistake. There can be manufacturing defects and apple needs to take the responsibility and replace my phone!!
I have gone on social platforms but apple doesnt respond. Reason why i have to resort to this forum. I expect this forum to get my issue addressed.
